KC Engineering and Land Surveying, P.C., a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm, is seeking candidates for Senior Inspectors in our Albany office. This is a full-time position.

The potential candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:
Experience/Qualifications:
Certified as a NICET Level III or equivalent; or,
Qualified for ASCE Grade II; or,
BA/BS from an accredited college and four years of experience on capital highway construction projects, or, a high school diploma or its equivalent and five years of experience on capital highway construction projects.
Working knowledge of the following: (1)NYSDOT Standard Specifications, (2) NYSTA policies and procedures, (3) NYSDOT MURK, and (4) SiteManager or AASHTOWare Project. (depending on project assignment, experience utilizing CEES may also be preferred)
Effective oral, written, organization and time management skills.

Licenses/Certifications:
Must have New York State Driver’s License.
OSHA 10-hour safety certification.
ACI Grade I Concrete Technician is desirable.

The responsibilities of this position are as follows:
The primary work locations are within the NYSTA Syracuse Division reporting to the Albany Office. Successful candidates may be required to provide support to other KC offices on an as needed basis.
Perform work of moderate difficulty and responsibility in the inspection of structures, bridges, roadway, and other capital highway construction.
Strong ability to perform work independently and as a team member.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of contract work performed.
Ability to comprehend construction contract documents.
Night work may be required.

The potential candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:
Experience/Qualifications:
MS in Structural Engineering or related fields is desirable. BS in Structural Engineering or related fields is required.
Qualified for ASCE Grade III.
Minimum 3 years of experience with a strong technical background in design and construction of structural projects.
Experience in the preparation and management of public bid construction contracts/specifications.
Familiarity with local agency regulations, including the NYSDEC, NYSDOT, NYSDOH, and 10 States Standards.
Effective oral, written, organization and time management skills

Licenses/Certifications:

Perform engineering duties in design and construction inspection of structural projects such as bridges, culverts, buildings, retaining walls, and roadways, etc.
Provide work-around solutions to designated design and construction inspection staff.
Assist in the review of design documents for approval and attend meetings with government agencies/entities, architects, engineers, design professionals, professional organizations and community groups, and the public to provide advice and information concerning municipal projects.
Generate reports, memos, or other documentation necessary to support engineering designs.
Report to and provide support for office project manager.
Be able to perform work independently.

May be required to conduct site or field visits, and be alert to safety hazards in the field.
