Running an S-PLAY rig? There's a new firmware update you'll want to grab.
S-PLAY SP1 and Lite are now on v3.3.0, and S-PLAY Mini has moved to v2.0.1 — and all three landed at the same time. Here's what's new:
- 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 (𝗦𝗣𝟭 & 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲): Link your unit to your ENTTEC account with a one-time auth code and get secure remote access straight out of the box — no SSH, no port forwarding needed.
- 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀-𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗰 (𝗦𝗣𝟭, 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲 & 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶): All three models can now discover and sync with each other in a mixed rig, keeping playback aligned regardless of which units you're running together.
- 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀: Universes go from 2 to 4, Cues from 16 to 32, and Playlists from 8 to 16 — a meaningful step up for smaller installs.
Before you update, make sure you back up your show data first. Once updated, power cycle your unit and clear your browser cache if you're hitting the same IP address.

Hong Kong’s harbourfront has always known how to put on a show. 🎡✨

Standing 60 metres above Victoria Harbour, the Hong Kong Observation Wheel is one of the city’s most recognisable nighttime landmarks, and its latest lighting refurbishment makes every turn even more spectacular.

Delivered by the brilliant team at Dutch Wheels, the installation uses ENTTEC Smart PXL 60 dots to trace the wheel in brilliant, individually controlled colour. Built for demanding outdoor environments, these rugged IP67, IK10-rated LED pixels are made to keep shining through the weather, night after night.

Behind the scenes, ENTTEC OCTO Mk2 controllers transform eDMX data into precisely coordinated pixel effects across the structure.

A huge thank you to Dutch Wheels for bringing it all together so beautifully. When engineering, lighting and one extraordinary skyline meet, the result is impossible to miss.

A conversation of light and community 🌈

Meet Melissa Joakim's art ✨

Her installation Trail turns interaction into color. Suspended LED light-bars form a glowing pathway, and each one is pixel-mapped so color can flow along it.

The ENTTEC S-Play drives it all. With 50 lighting shows recorded into this compact controller, the S-Play plays one back whenever motion sensors pick up visitors. The light rises to meet whoever walks through, and every passerby leaves a colorful trace.

Trail is about cause and effect. It shows how our individual actions ripple outward, and how connecting with others makes the experience brighter. The piece offers a chance for strangers to engage with one another.

93 years on the hillside. 45 years since it last shone. Then Pearl pressed the button. 🦁✨

On 23rd September, Whipsnade Zoo’s iconic White Lion roared to life for only the third time in its history, marking 200 years of ZSL and its work to protect wildlife.

Behind that unforgettable moment is a permanent dynamic LED installation developed through nearly two years of collaboration. A total of 2,330 lights now trace the Lion’s immense 147-metre silhouette, with the installation featuring ENTTEC SMART PXL dots, PIXELATOR MINI MK2 and ELM pixel mapping software.

But technology should never be the loudest part of a moment like this. Its job is to make the moment possible.

Our sincere thanks to Pearl Bardwell, who did the honours on her 13th birthday; the dedicated White Lion volunteers; Dean M. and his team; Daniel Everett and the ENTTEC Europe team; and everyone across Whipsnade Zoo and ZSL who brought this extraordinary project to life.

The Lion will now shine every Wednesday at dusk, from 30th September until the end of 2026, as part of ZSL’s Wildlife Wednesdays.

That's a wrap on Prismatic Expo 2026 in Detroit. 🌈

Thank you to @𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 for hosting, and congratulations on 50 years in the industry!

A big shout-out to our own Andrew, who represented ENTTEC over two days of demos and conversations. He spent time with architects, engineers, designers, and end users, showing how ENTTEC's complete lighting package can support their projects from control to installation.

With lighting, rigging, A/V, and display manufacturers side by side, there were great discussions about immersive and sustainable systems and how these technologies are coming together in architainment and live environments.
