We had the honor of welcoming Representative Rulli to our Hunt Valve facility in Salem, OH. His commitment to the President's Navy budget — including funding for submarines, carriers, and amphibious ships, directly supports the work we do every day and the growth we're building toward.

Over the past six years, Hunt Valve has nearly doubled its workforce, creating meaningful jobs in the Salem community. That momentum doesn't happen without strong advocates in our corner.

Rep. Rulli also spent time discussing something we're deeply invested in - workforce development. From his connections with local technical schools to potential state funding opportunities and ties to the Utica Shale Academy, it's clear we share a vision, building a skilled, homegrown workforce ready to meet the demands of America's defense industry.

We are grateful for the visit, the conversation, and the shared commitment to growth, innovation, and community.

The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), the world’s most advanced aircraft carrier, has returned to Naval Station Norfolk after an unprecedented 11-month deployment. Covering 57,713 nautical miles and operating across four fleets, this historic mission showcased the Ford-class carrier’s unmatched capabilities, including the successful Sustained Sortie Generation Rate demonstration.

What does this mean for the reliability of FMD equipment? Everything. The Ford’s record-breaking 326 days at sea and over 12,200 flight launches underscore the critical role of reliable, cutting-edge technology in ensuring mission success. From handling operations to flight deck performance, FMD equipment proved its resilience and dependability under the most demanding conditions.

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re reminded of the importance of continued investment in innovation and maintenance to keep our fleet ready for the challenges ahead. The Navy’s FY27 shipbuilding plan reflects this commitment, with billions allocated to advancing the next generation of carriers.

FMD had a successful week at CANSEC and was proud to participate as a first-time exhibitor. The event provided an exceptional opportunity to engage directly with leaders, partners, and stakeholders across the Canadian defense market, and to better understand the priorities shaping the future of readiness and sustainment. We extend our sincere thanks to CADSI for hosting an outstanding event and bringing together such a strong cross-section of the defense community.

A key moment for FMD was Nirav Patel’s presentation, “Robotics in Vessel Sustainment,” which addressed a critical challenge facing modern naval forces: for a Navy to remain powerful, it must be ready to sail. Maintaining a competitive edge will require organizations to accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies, including AI-enabled robotics, while actively addressing the barriers that often slow implementation.

We left CANSEC energized by the conversations, encouraged by the level of engagement, and more committed than ever to supporting defense organizations as they modernize maintenance, improve readiness, and prepare for the demands ahead.

Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014, the world's largest operating steam locomotive, will be on public display right here in West Chicago on June 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. — and admission is completely free.

This iron giant is part of a historic coast-to-coast tour celebrating America's 250th anniversary, headlining with a Fourth of July stop in Philadelphia.

Here's what makes this moment especially meaningful for us: FMD owns the ALCO product line, and it was ALCO that built Big Boy No. 4014 (serial No. 69585) in the 1940s. In a very real sense, we are part of this locomotive's story — and a piece of American industrial history.
This is the kind of experience that stays with kids of all ages. Bring the family, soak in the history, and see firsthand the role that American railroads — and American ingenuity — played in building this nation.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice has made a lasting impact, and today we reflect with gratitude on the courage, dedication, and selflessness they showed.

As we spend time with family and community, we also recognize the deeper meaning of this day and the legacy of those we remember.

We honor their service. We remember their sacrifice.

Safety starts with speaking up before a risk becomes an incident.

We’re proud to recognize Bill Korda, Engineer at Hunt Valve Company, Inc., as our Safety Winner of the Month.

During an engineering assessment of a welding wall partition, Bill identified serious risks to the wall and flagged his concerns with a wider team.

Because of his proactive approach and support of the Stop Work Policy, the project was paused and a safer plan was developed to reinforce the wall and shift hose reel support to the floor.

Bill’s actions helped reduce risk, protect employees, and strengthen the safety of the work area.

Please join us in congratulating Bill on this well-deserved recognition.
