Do I look like the NSA? πŸ˜‚ Surveying out in the field with the Total Station today!
People think civil engineering is just sitting behind a desk, but if our math in the field is off by a fraction of an inch, entire multi-million dollar real estate developments flood. Millions of investor and tax dollars depend on this exact equipment.
You can’t solve macro-level climate problems without getting your hands dirty in the dirt first. We are out here protecting infrastructure and building the tech of the future. πŸ—οΈπŸ’§

The glamorous reality of being a Deep Tech Civil Engineering CEO? Sweating your life away in the Florida sun because you undercharged for a project. πŸ₯΅β˜€οΈ We are out here at 1300D St. running the GNSS because good data in the field saves millions in expensive mistakes later. Precision work. Extreme conditions. Let's engineer something. πŸ—οΈπŸ“

Thinking of buying a house on a cul-de-sac in South Florida? Watch this first. πŸ›‘πŸ“

The county says your house only needs to be 1.5ft above the street. But if you're near a canal, that water has to drain away from the canal. That means on a random Tuesday rainstorm, you could be trapped in your house with water sitting in your garage ruining your sports car. 😭🌊

Demand the elevation survey. The Sera Standard is 2 feet. Protect your investment!

We all love a clean driveway, but let's talk about the "Toxic Soup" it leaves behind... πŸ²β˜£οΈπŸ’§

It’s not just car oil washing off our pavement. The harsh cleaners we use run straight into our stormwater system. But here is the scary engineering truth: our current infrastructure isn't designed to filter it out. Its only job is to move that toxic soup into our oceans and our drinking water aquifers as fast as possible.
I'm not saying we stop washing our cars or cleaning our properties! I'm saying we need to engineer a better foundation that actually handles the way we live. πŸ—οΈπŸŒŠ

Did you know "lazy" engineering is literally causing Blue Baby Syndrome? πŸ›‘πŸ‘ΆπŸΎπŸ’§
Every time it rains, toxic street runoff is dumped into basic retention ponds, and local developers just hope the dirt magically filters out the harsh chemicals and engine oil.
Spoiler alert: It doesn't. β˜•οΈ
This is exactly why we are seeing massive, toxic algae blooms suffocating our coastlines and causing dangerous nutrient imbalances in our well water.
But we don't just watch the chaos happenβ€”we engineer the solution. It is time to stop relying on lazy ponds and start using sub-grade infrastructure like Nutrient-Separating Baffle Boxes and deep-rooted Bioswales to filter out the toxins before they hit our aquifers.

Instagram vs Reality: Civil Engineering Edition πŸ‘·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈβœ¨ Everyone wants the aesthetic, but nobody wants to stand in a parking lot for 2 hours shooting points with a total station. πŸ˜‚ The glam is fun, but the real work happens in the field! You thought potholes just "happened" because the road was old? Nope. It's a massive physics failure. Asphalt is a viscoelastic material. When it gets hot, it gets soft. When it rains, water fills the cracks. And when an SUV drives over it... boom. Hydraulic explosion. πŸ’₯

Stop settling for infrastructure that falls apart every summer. Let's engineer a better foundation. πŸ—οΈ

Did you know city roads run on Girl Math? πŸ’…πŸ—οΈ

It's like getting your nails done and being promised 3 weeks, but they chip in 3 days... and your nail tech still charges you full price for a brand new set to fix them.

Traditional asphalt looks incredible on a Year 1 city budget. It's cheap to lay down. But when you factor in the emergency pothole repairs and the constant road closures, it ends up costing taxpayers 3X more than premium, long-lasting alternatives. πŸ“‰

It’s the ultimate "you're gonna pay on the front end or the back end, but you're gonna pay" business model.

Stop paying for 20th-century band-aids. Let's engineer a better foundation.

Civil Engineering is 50% design and 50% forensic detective work. πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™€οΈπŸ”

You can't design a new utility profile if you don't know where the existing lines actually are. We were handed an architectural survey for this site that gave us the building, but absolutely zero topographic data or utility elevations. You can't just guess when it comes to tie-ins.

So, we had to go hunting.

This is the reality of forensic engineering: walking the street, hunting down the existing valves, and shooting the elevations manually so the final CAD model is bulletproof.

Are you a "trust the plans" engineer or a "trust the dirt" engineer? Let me know below! πŸ‘‡
