🇳🇱Last week, IGS hosted a hands-on workshop and live demo in Rotterdam focused on HVTS® and automated welding solutions for corrosion mitigation and asset integrity.

A big thank you to everyone who joined, including operators, safety professionals, and turnaround personnel, for the great discussions and engagement throughout the sessions.

Attendees heard insightful presentations from Colin Bateman and Yelena Rojas, who shared how IGS welding and HVTS® capabilities can be engineered to solve specific corrosion challenges across critical assets.

Participants also had the opportunity to see the technology in action with:
• A live automated welding demonstration
• HVTS® surface preparation and application demos
• Hands-on discussions around practical field ex*****on and inspection considerations
• Plenty of networking over lunch

It was great to bring together so many industry professionals to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and explore practical solutions for extending asset life, reducing downtime, and improving reliability.

⚙️ Many plants across the GCC are experiencing disruptions to their planned turnaround and shutdown schedules. In addition, some petrochemical facilities are being forced to shut down due to challenges exporting finished products following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

IGS recently completed an emergency TubeTech ROV project at a petrochemicals complex in Qatar and is currently executing two hydrogen reformer projects at a refining complex in the UAE.

For the UAE project, IGS mobilized personnel to site within one week of confirmation. This included arranging mission visas, medicals, and gate access for the workforce, while transferring equipment resources from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, the Czech Republic, and the USA within the same one-week timeframe.

This project demonstrates IGS's ability to mobilize personnel and equipment across multiple countries at very short notice, even when faced with complex international logistics requirements.

🚨 A petrochemical aromatics plant faced oxidation and scaling of its radiant tubes, reducing efficiency and shortening tube life. External tube surface oxidation caused metal loss at approximately 0.25 mm/year. Scale growth restricted conductive heat transfer and constrained production capacity.

⚙️In each of the four 700MW boilers at a pulverized coal-fired power plant in southeast US, personnel were concerned about LPA, commonly known as popcorn ash.

If allowed to reach the SCR, LPA causes severe ash piling and catalyst damage, and screen breaches aren’t uncommon but can be costly.
