Home to the legendary Indianapolis 500, Indianapolis Motor Speedway is one of the world’s most iconic sporting venues, welcoming hundreds of thousands of fans each year. To improve safety and accessibility throughout the historic grandstands, Sightline installed handrail systems that enhance graspability and support safer movement through heavily trafficked aisle ways.

The solution was seamlessly integrated into the existing structure, preserving the venue’s historic character while providing fans with greater confidence and stability during major events like the Indy 500. By modernizing key areas of the facility, Sightline helped ensure a safer, more accessible experience for generations of race fans!

Our Meet The Team spotlight this month is Nick Bauer! As Director of Preconstruction at Sightline Commercial Solutions, Nick leads the estimating team responsible for developing pricing and proposals that support projects from the earliest stages.

With 15 years at Sightline, he works closely with customers and internal teams to align technical details with budgets, helping to ensure concepts are both feasible and positioned for success. Nick’s career path reflects a deep understanding of Sightline’s process from start to finish. He began as a Design Engineer and advanced through roles including Senior Engineer and Product Manager before stepping into his current role. This experience allows him to bridge how systems are designed and built with how they are sold and scoped.

He has contributed to a range of high-profile projects and product launches. Among the most memorable was AT&T Stadium, one of the company’s first large-scale railing projects, where Nick was involved in both design and field coordination. He is particularly energized by the evolution of multi-use venues and the creative solutions required to help facilities become “Swiss army knives” for live entertainment. “I like being part of unique builds and turning raw materials into something people can see and touch as part of an experience,” he says.
