We’re hiring: Senior Structural Engineer, Lexington or Louisville, KY
Thoroughbred is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to lead projects, build client relationships, and help grow our structural practice. As a multi-discipline firm with civil, geotechnical, architecture, survey, inspections, and construction under one roof, we offer a chance to work as Engineer of Record with full in-house project support.

What you’ll do:
- Lead structural design and analysis across steel, concrete, masonry, and wood for new construction, renovations, and assessments
- Manage projects from scope and fee through design, permitting, and construction
- Serve as Engineer of Record and primary client contact
- Mentor engineers and provide QA/QC on deliverables
- Help win new work through proposals, client meetings, and business development

What we’re looking for:
- P.E. required; S.E. preferred
- 10+ years of structural engineering experience
- BS in Civil or Structural Engineering (MS preferred)
- Proven project management, client management, and mentoring experience

This is a senior role for someone who wants to lead technically and help shape the future of our structural group.

The University of Kentucky HealthCare Medical Office Building has officially broken ground, and Thoroughbred is honored to provide civil engineering for this project.

The building is the first phase of a new medical campus in Lexington’s Hamburg area. It will widen access to care for patients and families across Kentucky. Outpatient clinics, teaching spaces, and support services will share one flexible facility, built to grow alongside the needs of modern healthcare.

Our civil team’s work starts beneath the surface. Site grading, utilities, stormwater management, and access are the foundation that lets a building like this serve its community for decades.

We’re grateful to collaborate with PMB LLC, Walsh Construction, IMEG, Brown & Kubican, Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design, and the full design team. We’re excited to help bring this vision to life for UK HealthCare and the Commonwealth.
