CARMAN is proud to celebrate the completion of the Gardens at St. Patrick’s. Serving as lead designer and landscape architect, it has been a privilege to help bring the Lundergan family’s vision to life.
The project features an accessible devotional trail that guides visitors through the 15 Stations of the Cross, each marked by bronze sculptures crafted in Italy. Inspired by the Gardens of Gethsemane, the landscape offers a contemplative and immersive experience rooted in the Catholic tradition.
Anchoring the site is a striking 75-foot steel cross adjacent to the visitors center, creating a powerful visual and spiritual focal point. More than 5,500 plants were installed across the grounds. Custom benches and wayfinding elements complement the trail and stations, each feature designed with symbolic connection to the Catholic faith.
The project was commemorated with a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony led by Cardinal Timothy Dolan and attended by many community members and friends of the Lundergan family, notably former UK coach John Calipari and former President Bill Clinton.
