The CRW Pickup CReW was out recently helping to clean up the 32nd/33rd corridor in midtown Anchorage. It was a good morning to get outside, pick up trash, and help care for a project area where our team’s work goes beyond designs and drawings.
This stretch is home to a bicycle-friendly corridor, constructed in 2022, which was phase 1 of the W. 32nd & E. 33rd Ave Upgrades project CRW is currently designing with the Municipality of Anchorage. MOA and the design team are evaluating upgrades to the corridor from Spenard Road to Old Seward Highway to improve safety and accessibility for vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists using Complete Streets design standards. Planned improvements include roadway work, storm drain upgrades, utility coordination, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, accessibility improvements, landscaping, signage, and lighting. Expect to see additional phases of construction in the coming years.
