Last Thursday, our General Manager, Jeremy Brett, had the opportunity to be part of a fantastic panel discussion at the Workplace Health & Safety Show at the International Convention Centre Sydney - ICC Sydney.

Jeremy joined Peter Abrahams from UTS: University of Technology Sydney and Kat Davies from the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, with the conversation expertly facilitated by Nicole Turnbull from the Psychosocial Safety and Leadership Institute.

The discussion, "What Frontline Leaders Do That Policy Can't", brought together different industries, experiences and perspectives, but what stood out was just how much everyone had in common when it came to creating safer, healthier workplaces.

Because while policies and procedures are essential, it's the people on the ground who bring them to life.
It was a genuinely engaging discussion, with plenty of practical insights, honest conversations and ideas to take away.

Beyond the panel itself, one of the highlights of the day was connecting with so many passionate, like-minded people who are working to make a real difference in their respective industries.

A big thank you to Peter, Kat and Nicole for such an open and valuable conversation. It's always refreshing to meet people who are just as willing to share their experiences as they are to learn from others.

After all, safety isn't just about what we have written in a policy. It's about what we do when it matters most.

What a week it's been across Morgan Engineering!

With plenty of completed jobs heading out the door, we also took some time yesterday to celebrate our team's hard work with a BBQ to raise awareness for Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation at our Large Scale Projects Facility.

It was a great chance to get everyone together, recognise the hard work happening across our teams and support a cause that means so much to our community.

And to top it off, we had a special visit from Witmore Limited for a little trick-or-treat fun! 🎃🍬

Today, Morgan Engineering joined forces with Hunter Valley Operations and the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer support in our local community.

Our team proudly wore their new pink undershirts, the Singleton Classic Motorcycle Club cooked a fantastic BBQ and there was plenty of excitement as our raffle winners were announced.

And of course, there was the hard-to-miss pink over 25T L1850 loader bucket!

But what stood out most was the people. Conversations were started, new friendships formed and existing relationships strengthened. A great reminder of what can happen when local businesses and organisations come together for a shared cause.

We couldn't be prouder of everyone involved.

A huge thank you to our Morgan Engineering team, HVO and HBCF for getting behind the day and to Robert's Meats, Bakers Delight, Lacnam Paints, Stuart and Dunn Office Choice and WesTrac.

We set out to raise funds and awareness, but today was also about connection, community and looking after one another.

We are proud of our people, proud of our partnerships and proud to be part of this community.

We are incredibly proud to share that Morgan Engineering has been named a State Finalist at Business NSW in all three categories we won at the 2026 Business Hunter Awards!

To be recognised at a state level is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work, dedication and commitment of our entire team.

We are honoured to be recognised alongside so many outstanding businesses and inspiring leaders who are doing incredible things across NSW.

As we head into the State Awards, we wish our team and all fellow finalists the very best of luck!

Whatever the outcome, we're already incredibly proud of how far we've come and the people who make it all possible. 💙

This October, Morgan Engineering is proud to be joining forces with Hunter Valley Operations and the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer support in our local community.

On Thursday, 29 October, we'll be bringing our team and invited guests together for a special sausage sizzle, with a few pink surprises along the way!

Breast cancer touches so many families in our community and we are proud to play a small part in supporting the incredible work HBCF does for local people navigating a breast cancer diagnosis.

From apprentice to Young Leader of the Year

At 16, Brody Nowlan joined Morgan Engineering as an apprentice fitter machinist.

Today, at 31, he is our Workshop Operations Manager, with now over 70 people reporting through his leadership structure.

And now he's Business Hunter's 2026 Young Leader Award winner.

When Brody started, Morgan Engineering had around 6 employees. Today, we are more than 140 strong and Brody has played a significant part in that growth.
In his words:

"I've been involved in just about every part of the business. It's pretty special to look back and see how much we've grown and know I've been part of that journey."

He's competitive, driven and thrives on a challenge. But what stands out most is the pride he takes in developing others.

"It's quite a good feeling to know that I get to interview and hire employees and be a big part of their journey and success."

From apprentice to leader, Brody's career is proof of what's possible when talent meets hard work, opportunity and a determination to keep pushing forward.

We're incredibly proud of you, Brody. This one is well deserved.
