We are excited to officially welcome Felicity “Flick” Chamen to the Morgan Engineering team as our newest Administration superstar.

Flick joins us with a wealth of experience across purchasing, inductions, payroll, and plant maintenance roles, proving she’s no stranger to wearing many hats and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.

A proud mum and Singleton local for nearly 20 years, Flick brings not only knowledge and capability, but also warmth, humour, and the kind of energy that lifts the whole office. She’s jumped straight into the chaos beautifully and has already told us she loves that we are “just as mad as she is” which honestly means she fits right in. 😂

Flick says she’s enjoying the warm, comfortable, and welcoming culture here at Morgan Engineering. And honestly? We are grateful she’s brings her good vibes through the door each day.

As Flick puts it:
“I am excited to be part of a team where I can make a meaningful impact, support operations, and build strong working relationships.”
That mindset is exactly what Morgan Engineering is all about.

Please join us in making Flick feel welcome as part of the team. We are lucky to have her on board and can’t wait to see the positive impact she continues to make.

Welcome to the madness, Flick. We are glad you’re here.

Jaws Volumax 930E Tray Overhaul

The overhaul of the Jaws Volumax 930E haul truck tray commenced with a full strip-down and assessment process, including the removal of all hardware accessories, body pads, mud flaps, and identification decals to expose the complete structural assembly for inspection.

Following disassembly, comprehensive Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) was undertaken to assess the structural integrity of the tray and identify critical repair requirements.

Through detailed strip and assessment analysis, Morgan Engineering identified and completed the following major repair and refurbishment works:
✅ Removal and replacement of front chassis rail sections
✅ Removal and replacement of the complete floor wear kit
✅ Removal and replacement of underside bolster sections
✅ Removal and replacement of the tray floor structure
✅ Removal and replacement of side wall transition wear plates
✅ Front wall canopy upgrades, including infill plate and bolster replacements
✅ Line boring reclamation of all pivot and hoist bores
✅ Final surface preparation, protective coating application, and decal installation

All works were completed entirely in-house by the Morgan Engineering team, with the project delivered in just under 2,000 man hours.

This overhaul showcased the full capability of Morgan Engineering across fabrication, machining, line boring, reclamation, surface preparation, and project coordination. More importantly, it demonstrated our company’s commitment to delivering fast, reliable, and safe engineering solutions that return critical mining equipment back to service with confidence.

This week we celebrated Bec with a small baby brunch surrounded by our operations and admin team before she officially finished up with Morgan Engineering today, heading off on maternity leave. 💛

Bec has been an instrumental part of our admin team, especially when it comes to inductions and payroll, helping keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes every single day.

We are so excited for Bec and her husband Jarrod as they prepare to welcome their little one into the world and begin this next chapter together.

While we’ll definitely miss Bec around the office, we already know there’ll be plenty of office bubba cuddles when she comes to visit. 🥰

Thank you for everything you do, Bec. Wishing you, Jarrod, and bub the very best from all of us at Morgan Engineering.

What a fantastic day for the Annual Singleton Classic Motorcycle Club Rally 🏍️

Earlier this month, 87 riders took part across both the 120km short course and 200km long course, the day was filled with incredible bikes, great people, and true community spirit.

The display of motorcycles was something special, with beautifully restored classics showcased in immaculate, well-loved condition. Even better was seeing a great bunch of ladies and gents enjoying the day, the camaraderie and the shared passion for classic bikes.

A massive effort also went into the event by the volunteers, who put on an outstanding lunch along with the best cookies and cakes you could ask for 👏

Congratulations to the raffle winners including first prize, a classic 1990 Suzuki GN250. Funds raised go to charities that provide vital services for our community and include Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

Morgan Engineering is proud to continue supporting events that bring people together and strengthen our local community.

2027 will see the clubs 40th Anniversary Rally so start polishing your bikes and get ready to ride.

Yesterday, we welcomed a visit from Dave Layzell to Morgan Engineering.

During the visit, Dave toured our machine shop, heavy fabrication workshop, new tray refurbishment facilities and service exchange warehouse before finishing at our Centre of Excellence, where he met one of our newest apprentices, Cameron Woods, along with our Training and Development Coordinator, Matthew Pickering.

We appreciated the opportunity to showcase the continued growth of our business, the investment being made into our facilities, and most importantly, the people driving our future forward.

At Morgan Engineering, we are proud to continue expanding our capabilities while creating opportunities for the next generation entering the industry.

Seeing local leaders take the time to visit regional businesses, meet apprentices, and recognise future potential in our area genuinely matters.

Thank you to Dave for taking the time to visit and learn more about what we do.

Morgan Engineering is proud to once again back the Sandy Hollow Charity Motorfest as a community sponsor for 2026.

It’s been a tough start to the year for many, which makes what Mick and the team are building even more important, bringing people together and supporting Where There's A Will, a local organisation doing vital work in mental health and wellbeing across the Upper Hunter.

If you are local, now’s the time to get involved follow the Sandy Hollow Charity Motorfest page, stay up to date or reach out and see how you can support.

We have thrown in an esky for the raffle that looks like the prize pool is growing very quickly, stay tunned on how to buy tickets. You wont want to miss out!

Recently, our General Manager, Jeremy Brett, had the opportunity to present to the City of Parramatta sharing our experience and lessons learned in building and sustaining a safety‑focused culture.

Jeremy spoke about our journey, from our early foundations and vision through to the ongoing work required to embed culture into everyday leadership. A key message was that culture is not a one‑time initiative. It evolves through accountability, clear expectations and continued commitment.

The session brought together engaged and thoughtful leaders who are actively progressing their own cultural and safety initiatives. Open discussion and practical questions made for a valuable exchange of ideas and experiences.

We are proud to contribute to conversations that support safer, stronger workplaces, where people feel respected, supported and safe - both physically and psychologically.

Thank you to City of Parramatta for the invitation and for your leadership in driving positive workplace culture across the region.

Last Friday night, some of our Morgan Engineering team had the privilege of attending the Hunter Safety Awards, sponsored by the incredible team from the Psychosocial Safety and Leadership Institute, proud networking sponsors of the event, alongside AGL, Ampcontrol, Plus-ES , Red Insight Pty Ltd, The University of Newcastle, Australia, Port of Newcastle, and Riskology, all strong advocates for safer, healthier workplaces across our region.

While we didn’t take home the win this year, we would like to sincerely congratulate all finalists and winners on the night. The work being done across the Hunter to improve workplace safety, leadership, culture, and innovation is something our entire region should be proud of and inspired by.

Events like these are an important reminder that creating safer workplaces is not about competition. It’s about continuing to learn, evolve, and support one another to create lasting change for our people, workplaces, and communities.

Thank you to everyone involved in celebrating 10 years of recognising excellence in workplace health and safety across the Hunter Region. We’re proud to be part of the conversation and look forward to continuing the journey.
