While we’re on the topic of tyre recycling this week, here’s a throwback to a tyre recycling project we delivered in Broome, WA.

McKeno Blocks and Pavers developed a patented system incorporating recycled rubber crumb into blocks and pavers.
With a clear end use already identified, Waste Initiatives designed a tyre recycling system around the required output, processing up to 60 car tyres per hour and producing rubber crumb for use in their products.

It’s a great example of what can be achieved when tyre recycling starts with a market for the recovered material.

What happens to e-waste when it is recycled?

Electronic waste can contain a mix of metals, plastics, wiring, circuit boards and other materials, all combined within a single product.

Recycling starts by breaking these products down so the different materials can be liberated. From there, separation technologies help sort the material into different fractions for further recovery and processing.

It’s not simply about shredding e-waste. It’s about separating what comes out.
