Storm season is right around the corner 🌩️

Before afternoon squalls and summer storms catch you off guard on water, take a few minutes to audit your helm wipers.

Sitting idle at the marina under harsh UV rays and salt buildup from sea spray cause standard wiper blades to degrade rapidly. Salt bakes into micro-crystals on the glass, while spring tension slowly drops, meaning when a storm hits, you’re left with streaky, shuddering blades or zero visibility at the worst possible moment.

Run these three simple checks before bad weather catches you out:

1️⃣ Inspect wiper arms for tension loss. Ensure the spring mechanism maintains firm, even pressure against the glass.
2️⃣ Clear dried salt crust from spray nozzles to prevent clogging.
3️⃣ Check your blades along the rubber edge for tears, hardening, or splitting.
