Introducing ESO Surveyors custom mobile photogrammetry system with custom vehicle fittings, purpose‑built for Dilapidation Surveys across large infrastructure projects.

Our vehicle‑mounted mobile photogrammetry solution captures high‑resolution imagery at speeds of up to 100 km/h, with NO motion blur or distortion. This allows our team to capture hundreds of kilometres of road surface in a fraction of the time compared to traditional methods.

Beyond imagery capture, the system delivers 360° high‑quality visuals, georeferenced imagery, and video and telemetry capture, including bespoke split‑view outputs tailored to each project.

We can also leverage AI-powered defect detection to automatically identify surface cracks and categorise defect sizes to meet specific project requirements supported by engineering assessments on identified defects where required.

With the application of additional surveying processing workflows, we are able to convert captured data into highly accurate survey-grade pointclouds, 3D linework, DEM’s etc.
i.e. 1 single comprehensive capture provides a variety of scalable deliverables.

Faster capture. Greater coverage. Defensible data.

All designed to support specialist Dilapidation Surveying and Conventional Reality Capture at scale.

📍 Project Update: Victoria Street Brunswick (VSB)

Project Value: $150M | Category: Building

We are proud to share an update from our work on the Victoria Street Brunswick development, where ESO has been supporting Hacer with high quality, consistent survey services on this major $150M project. The Victoria Street Brunswick development is a large-scale (~7,000 m² site) mixed-use urban regeneration project transforming a former industrial site into a vibrant, contemporary precinct. The development comprises multiple mid-rise buildings accommodating residential apartments, townhouses, commercial tenancies, and retail spaces, supported by basement parking and integrated public realm improvements.

Service being supplied:
🔹 End to end Survey Management
Our team successfully managed all survey requirements and additionally undertook service locating and verification works to help streamline onsite delivery.
🔹 Dedicated Resourcing
A surveyor was assigned throughout the life of the project, ensuring continuity, efficiency, and strong communication from start to finish.
🔹 Robust Control Network
We established a stable, reliable control network across high traffic zones—crucial for precision and seamless construction progress in a busy urban environment.
🔹 Monitoring Systems
ESO implemented vibration and movement monitoring systems, providing real time insights to ensure safety, compliance, and confidence on site.

🚀 Another great example of consistent, high value support for our clients across complex building projects.

At ESO Surveyors, women contribute their skills across many different departments – including accounts and admin to systems management, data management, marketing, surveying, and town planning.

Many of them prefer to stay out of the spotlight, but today on International Women’s Day we want to acknowledge the impact they make on every project, every client, and every site.

Thank you to the women of ESO Surveyors – and to women across the surveying and geospatial industries – for the leadership and expertise you bring.

Project Update: Tram Grade Separation Projects

ESO Surveyors is proud to support the Department for Infrastructure and Transport’s $870 million Tram Grade Separation Projects.

We’re delivering end to end surveying services across the Marion Road and Cross Road Level Crossing Removals Project (MAC), and Morphett Road Level Crossing Removals Project (MTX) sites.

Our scope included:
• Full survey management across all project zones
• Off site data management to maintain consistent, reliable information
• Laser scanning to capture detailed spatial data for design and construction
• Control network establishment, including installation, traverse and levelling for all survey control. This involved a mix of fixed prisms, reflective targets and ground control
• Overpass structure works, completing survey requirements on both the MAC and MTX bridges
• 24/7 occupations, supporting construction during critical shutdown periods
• Preservation of survey infrastructure throughout the project
• Paving support, including set out and verification
• Monitoring services to ensure safety, compliance and structural performance

A significant milestone was reached in late January, with trams resuming service along the Glenelg line in time for the start of the school year.

This combined effort of all TGSP Alliance partners highlights the value of accurate, reliable survey data in enabling safe and successful tram movements.

The Tram Grade Separation Project (TGSP) is being delivered by the Tram Grade Separation Projects Alliance (comprising of CPB Contractors, McConnell Dowell, Mott MacDonald, Arup, the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, and sub-Alliance partner, Aurecon). The Project is making journeys safer and more reliable by removing three level crossings along the Glenelg tram line at Marion Road and Cross Road, Plympton, and Morphett Road, Morphettville, and rebuilding the existing South Road tram overpass at Glandore to accommodate the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project open motorway.

As the West Gate Tunnel project approaches completion, ESO is proud to reflect on our extensive involvement supporting two major clients— CPB Contractors and Boral —across one of Victoria’s most significant infrastructure undertakings.

Over the past six years, ESO has delivered comprehensive surveying services, adapting to evolving site demands and maintaining full coverage across 24/7 operations. At peak times, up to 10 ESO surveyors were deployed daily to ensure seamless progress and precision.

📍 Scope of Services Provided:

For CPB Contractors:
• Survey Management: Supplied 8 experienced Construction Surveyors to meet project demands.
• Control Networks: Delivered least squares adjustment closed level loop surveys.
• Bridge Structures: Surveyed numerous bridge structures throughout the corridor.
• Gantry Surveying: Surveyed Australia’s widest gantry with precision.
• Paving Works: Supported surveying of all paving across the project.
• Monitoring & Occupations: Provided monitoring for movement of existing structures and maintained 24/7 road occupation resourcing.

For Boral:
• Survey Management: Led all survey operations, responding rapidly to shifting schedules.

🚧 Project Update: Hay Street Two-Way Conversion, WA

ESO recently wrapped up our 12-month contribution to the City of Perth’s Hay Street Two-Way Conversion project — an initiative aimed at improving traffic flow and accessibility in the heart of the city.

Another successful project with our repeat client.

🔍 Our Role: ESO was engaged early in the project to deliver the initial feature survey, then to provide construction set out and as-built surveys as the project took shape. Despite the narrow corridor the site remained open to the public throughout the works.

Services:
ESO installed, measured and adjusted a tight control network and supported construction of drainage, pavement and relocation of underground services. The constrained urban nature of the site necessitated a fluctuating construction program which ESO was able to accommodate by providing part-time site support ramping to full-time support at short notice. Additionally, ESO supplied round-the-clock Dayshift and Nightshift survey to meet tight deadlines.
