Kleinfelder recently joined partners and community leaders to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new Caldwell County Community and Evacuation Center in Luling, Texas — a 45,000-square-foot facility designed to support both everyday community use as well as critical emergency response.

As design lead, Kleinfelder provided site civil design, environmental permitting, and coordination across architecture, MEP, and landscape disciplines. We also supported grant funding efforts that helped bring this $22 million project to life.

“Kleinfelder is proud to have led the design team for this facility alongside several strong partners,” said Tracy Bratton, Land Development Practice Leader. “This project reflects thoughtful planning, collaboration, and a shared commitment to supporting communities.”

Congrats to all involved!

We’re proud to share that the Altamont Pass Emergency Slide Repair Project has been named Emergency Project of the Year by the California Transportation Foundation!

Following severe storm damage along I-580, our team supported Caltrans with emergency repairs while protecting sensitive species and habitats.

Shoutout to our team members Denis Coughlan, Michael Voeltz, Kenneth Norberg, and the rest of our NorCal Biology Team, and to Jenn Addison and Margaret Rousser for representing us at the awards. And thank you to our partners, including BioMaAS, for their collaboration on construction monitoring.

Great work by all involved in restoring safety while minimizing environmental impacts.

Today, we remember and honor all the brave men and women who gave their lives in service of the U.S. Military.

We’d also like to highlight Patrick Rodgers, a Construction Manager in Kleinfelder’s Christiansburg, VA office and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, who helps lead the Henry County Memorial Ruck through his nonprofit organization, All Vets (he is pictured here at last year’s event).

This past Saturday, May 23, 2026, the All Vets rucking team again embarked on 20 miles across Henry County and Martinsville City to honor and remember U.S. Military members who are no longer with us. Hundreds of American, service, and POW/MIA flags in their rucksacks, they use this time to reflect on the service and the lives of the Veterans the flags represent.

🐝 Last week, Kleinfelder’s Northern California Area Biology team participated in a specialized bumble bee training led by CDFW MOU holder Jaymee Marty. As Crotch’s bumble bee and other bee species move toward protected status, placing them on upcoming project permits, our team is staying ahead with hands-on training like this to deliver informed, environmentally responsible solutions.

And with May 20 marking , it’s a timely reminder of the importance of pollinators … and the role our teams play in helping protect them.

Giving back is part of how we build strong teams.

Our Hamilton and Princeton offices recently came together for the Etra Lake Park Stream Cleanup, supporting clean water, healthy habitats, and the communities where we live and work.

At Kleinfelder, meaningful work goes beyond the project site … it’s also about teamwork, service, and showing up for our neighbors.
