In recognition of National Hispanic American Heritage Month, we are proud to celebrate the experiences, perspectives, and contributions of our employees.

For Angelica Ramirez Torres, EIT, Bridge Designer, her Mexican heritage and experience as a first-generation American have instilled a deep appreciation for family, culture, celebration, and the sacrifices of previous generations. She hopes to inspire others to value where they come from, celebrate life's milestones, and make time for the people who matter most.

For Art Garcia, PE, Senior Principal Professional and Water Resources Engineer, his parents' journey from Zacatecas, Mexico, and the opportunities they created through hard work and sacrifice continue to inspire him. Their example helped pave the way for a family of college graduates and serves as a reminder to make the most of every opportunity.

Kleinfelder is proud to support the next generation of pipeline industry leaders through our involvement with Young Pipeline Professionals USA (YPP USA).

We're excited to celebrate the launch of the new Denver YPP chapter, the organization's first new chapter in eight years. The chapter recently kicked off with a networking event, bringing together young professionals from across the utility, pipeline, engineering, and compliance sectors.

Kleinfelder's support of YPP continues to grow, with Darbey Ladefoged serving on the two-person leadership team helping establish and expand the Denver chapter. This effort builds on our longstanding involvement with YPP, including leadership contributions from David Gregory and our support of the Houston chapter.

"YPP gives young professionals an opportunity to be in the same room with people helping shape decisions across our industry,” Darbey said. “It's a chance to learn where the industry is headed, build relationships with industry leaders, and hopefully one day contribute to those decisions ourselves.”

Kleinfelder Project Manager Karibia Baillargeon had the chance to meet astronaut Katya (Kat) Echazarreta at a Girls Inc. event at San Diego State University. Both share similar journeys, from growing up in Mexico to pursuing STEM careers and giving back through outreach and mentorship.
