Sabattus Machine Works, Inc. Sabattus Machine Works is a full service, job shop, machining facility. We often manufacture parts, even assemblies, from samples or simple sketches.

Since 1986 we have supported all types of manufactures with maintenance & repair machining services. We are also subcontracted by original equipment manufacturers to produce parts for their products and inventories. We use the latest shop management and manufacturing software, enabling us to quickly and accurately process your order. Our ability to "reverse engineer”, from worn or broken parts, is

one of our most valuable resources. We produce machine components that are exact duplicates of the originals. We create permanent records; part numbers with complete descriptions and detailed drawings to insure our customers get the same parts with every reorder. This standard of repeatability is one of our highest priorities.

This special gearbox shaft, which has a collet type coupling at one end, had its opposing end twisted off. Replication of the shaft was achieved using the sample as a template. A new shaft, with the gear properly secured, is shown on the left.

One of our completed projects for the week is highlighted here. Our manufacturing team produced a couple dozen custom sockets with 2-3/8 inch shallow hex and 1/2 inch drive. These will now be treated with a black oxide finish. Great work guys.

We replicated a gear segment part from a customer's sample. It's made from high carbon steel and heat treated for precise hardness. The original component is on the right, and the Sabattus Machine reproduction is on the left. Although the photograph does not illustrate this, our customer benefited from considerable savings.
