Aeration removes small plugs of soil to loosen compacted ground and help air, water, and nutrients reach the roots. Follow it with grass seed to help fill in thin or bare spots before colder temperatures arrive.

One neighborly tip: aerate when the soil is moist, but not soggy. And definitely before temperatures drop.

Stop by your local Johnson’s Ace for the seed, lawn care supplies, and helpful advice you need to give your yard a fall reset.

Johnson’s Good Guy of the Game: Andrew Waitkus!

Congratulations to Hempfield Area High School sophomore Andrew Waitkus ( #55), our latest Johnson’s Good Guy of the Game!

Andrew is making his mark both on the field and in the classroom! A member of Hempfield’s varsity football and basketball teams, he’s a talented two-sport athlete who also excels academically and maintains an impressive GPA.

Balancing two varsity sports with academic success takes dedication, discipline and hard work. Andrew is proving that being a standout student-athlete means giving your best in everything you do!

At Johnson’s, we believe in recognizing young people who lead by example, work hard and make their schools and communities proud.

Congratulations, Andrew! Keep up the great work and remember to Do Good and Pass It On!

Some people want a fire at the turn of a k**b. Others want crackling logs, extra warmth, and a good excuse to make s’mores. 🔥

Propane is easy to start, control, and clean. Wood brings the classic backyard experience and works especially well for larger spaces.

Whichever camp you’re in, stop by Johnson’s, and we’ll help you find the right fit for your backyard. Always check local rules and placement requirements before lighting up.
