During Arts in Education Week, we’re proud to celebrate the spaces that help students explore creativity, build confidence, and discover the power of the arts.

At Lawrence Road Middle School in the Uniondale Union Free School District, H2M was proud to support a building addition that included multiple improvements to music-focused spaces. This included a new music suite, an expanded choir room, a new band room, and a large instrument storage room.

These spaces provide students with environments to learn, rehearse, and grow through the arts, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support projects that invest in arts education and the students who bring these spaces to life.

Across the country, elementary school libraries are evolving from quiet, book‑lined rooms into dynamic learning environments that support digital fluency, collaboration, and creativity. In the White Plains City School District, this evolution has taken shape through three distinct yet philosophically aligned renovation projects at Mamaroneck Avenue School, Church Street Elementary School, and Ridgeway Elementary School.

Each project demonstrates how thoughtful planning, respect for school identity, and flexible design strategies can transform existing libraries into true centers of school community and learning.

Though each school’s identity and needs are unique, the core principles connect all three: respect for school culture, developmentally appropriate zoning, and flexible furniture that supports evolving curricula.

H2M incorporated thoughtful color integration tied to each school’s identity and individual preferences. In one of the libraries, for example, H2M coordinated furniture and paint accents with an existing mural to create a joyful, cohesive, story-driven space for children and adults alike.

Durable, easy-to-maintain materials and ample daylighting further contribute to welcoming, child-centered environments that support the position of libraries as the beating hearts of their communities.

As we continue to celebrate Water Quality Month, H2M recognizes the vital role reliable drinking water plays in supporting resilient communities.

We remain committed to delivering forward-thinking solutions that help municipalities strengthen their water systems and provide dependable service to the people they serve.

This includes supporting the Village of Nyack, NY, in implementing a multi-phase water main replacement project due to the system designed to replace aging infrastructure and improve system reliability. Particular focus was given to placement and reliable function of operating valves within the system.

The project involves replacing approximately 5.2 miles of water main and all valves, fire hydrants, and fittings while providing adequate fire flow, redundancy, and reliability to the approximate 14,700 community members and 3,330 connections the service area impacts.

Each year, the publication honors the most innovative, talented, and accomplished women throughout New York State’s commercial real estate industry. As an environmental scientist with over 15 years of environmental investigation and remediation experience, Jessica has supported the redevelopment of a wide variety of project sites under the New York City Brownfield Cleanup Program, New York State Superfund Program, New York State Spills Program, and other environmental initiatives.

Progress continues on the Wyandanch Union Free School District’s new Early Childhood Center, and we’re excited to see this important project continue taking shape!

The new facility will feature six pre-k and six kindergarten classrooms, a library, a multipurpose room with a kitchen that can double as a performance space, flexible seating designed for young learners, and a brand-new playground. These thoughtfully designed spaces will support early learning and development, creating a strong educational foundation that will benefit the district’s youngest students for years to come.

We look forward to seeing the completed project come to life!
