Each year, Fall Protection and Ladder Safety rank among the most cited OSHA violations in the nation. This National Safety Month, H2M recommits itself to holding safety as the top priority.

Recently, our teams participated in a variety of trainings, including Fall Protection Awareness and Ladder Safety, which provided valuable, hands-on experience with fall protection equipment and proper ladder use.

Fall Protection and Ladder Safety training are essential components of a strong safety culture, especially for H2M team members conducting site visits, inspections, and constructability reviews. Unprotected edges, improper ladder use, and changing site conditions may quickly lead to serious incidents even in environments that may appear low risk.

By prioritizing training, reinforcing hazard recognition, and applying safe access practices, our teams can confidently navigate field work while protecting themselves and others. This proactive approach not only reduces risk but also demonstrates leadership, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality projects from design through construction.

Earlier this month, H2M proudly attended the LiveGirl Scholarship Presentation in Norwalk, CT. At the event, H2M’s very own ACE mentee Arianna Peterson received the 2026 LiveGirl Victoria Cerami Gumption Scholarship, earning $50,000 toward tuition and a full year of executive coaching and leadership development. ACE mentees are high school students that receive mentorship and hands-on learning from industry professionals at firms such as H2M, introducing them to careers in architecture, engineering, and construction.

H2M Civil Staff Engineers Samantha McNamara, Rob Martin, E.I.T., and Anthony Cucinello played a significant role in supporting her throughout the application process, providing guidance and offering thoughtful letters of recommendation. ACE mentors are crucial in helping guide young talent on the path to achieve success. Through their support, Arianna’s application truly stood out.

LiveGirl’s mission is to prepare the next generation of brave women leaders with the skills, mentorship, and opportunities to thrive and make a positive impact. This particular scholarship is awarded to ACE mentees, making this recognition even more meaningful.

We are honored to have been part of Arianna’s journey and proud of the role our mentors played in stewarding the future of our industry!

Ever wish you could open your doors sooner than traditional construction allows?

H2M partnered with Fullerton Building Systems, All American Construction Group, and franchise owner Habib Hashimi on a new Bojangles Restaurants, Inc. location in Farmingville, NY using custom prefabricated construction.

The result? A fully assembled building structure in less than one week on site.

For franchise owners, that means faster openings, reduced disruption, and a more predictable path to revenue.

H2M architects + engineers is pleased to share the interior design vision for the Startup Tech Center at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).

The design supports collaboration, adaptability, and student engagement through a cohesive material palette, flexible learning, and collaborative spaces. Subtle references to NYIT branding are incorporated through color, graphics, and architectural elements to reinforce identity and support intuitive wayfinding.

Daylight and transparency guide the interior layout, strengthening visual connections between classrooms, collaboration areas, and circulation spaces. These shared spaces are designed to encourage interaction beyond what is found in traditional learning environments, while supporting a range of academic uses.

Durable, low maintenance materials, and integrated acoustic strategies enhance comfort, functionality, and long term performance. Together, these elements create an environment that supports NYIT’s academic mission and evolving learning needs.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we hold today, and it is a responsibility we all share to never forget.

At H2M, we are honored to contribute to spaces that preserve that legacy. Our recent work on the Memorial Pavilion at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy is one such place, created to ensure that those honored there are remembered for generations to come.
