H2M is proud to work with Terwilliger & Bartone Properties to deliver a new Cornerstone project to the Town of Huntington!

Cornerstone Melville is a 190,000-square-foot mixed-use development that will feature over 150 units of multifamily housing, below- and surface-grade parking, and space for retailers, restaurants, offices, and amenities. Earlier this month, the Huntington Town Board voted to approve a special-use permit for the project, which is the second development planned for the recently designated Melville Town Center Overlay District.

H2M is providing a wide range of services to the project, from architectural design to structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services. H2M also prepared construction documents for site plan approval as well as bidding and construction administration services.

We are excited to work with the developer, the community, and other local stakeholders to bring this transformative development to fruition!

Every successful project depends on a team of dedicated construction professionals who help turn ambitious ideas into lasting community assets. During Careers in Construction Month, we're proud to highlight H2M's role in the development of the new Ronald McDonald House at Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, NY.

The three-story, 60,000-square-foot facility is being designed to provide families with a comfortable, supportive place to stay while loved ones receive care at nearby medical facilities. In keeping with Ronald McDonald House’s mission of supporting children and their families through illness, this new facility will feature 30 family suites to house and support parents and other family members while their children receive medical care. The facility also includes shared spaces for dining, gathering, wellness, recreation, and volunteer support.

H2M's construction management professionals serve as the Owner’s Representative from design through project closeout. Our team coordinates with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders; monitors project progress, budgets, and schedules; reviews construction documentation; conducts site observations; and helps guide the project toward successful completion. H2M is also providing LEED consulting services, supporting sustainable design strategies, documentation, and certification efforts that align with the project's environmental goals.

Projects like the new Ronald McDonald House demonstrate the value of construction services beyond simply delivering a building. Through planning, coordination, oversight, and quality assurance, construction professionals help ensure that complex projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with an owner’s vision. H2M recently joined developer Tritec Real Estate Company, Inc. to celebrate the groundbreaking of Station Yards Phase 2C in Ronkonkoma, NY.

Phase 2C comprises three new buildings (three-, four-, and five-stories) on the 6.72-acre site, bringing to the development 285 apartments and 30,000 square feet of medical space leased by Northwell Health. For this phase, H2M provided civil engineering and landscape architecture services, including developing site plans, designing on-site infrastructure, and coordinating permit approvals with state and local agencies.

Project Manager and Civil Engineer Danielle Drake, P.E., LEED GA; Civil Engineering Department Manager Joel Richardson, P.E.; and Civil Engineer William H. Spitz, P.E., represented H2M at the groundbreaking. Other attendees included representatives from TRITEC and Northwell Health, as well as other local business leaders, government officials, and project stakeholders.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this incredible project, as well as the Ronkonkoma community. We can’t wait to see this next phase come to fruition!

H2M architects + engineers is pleased to share that a key feature of our design for the Oceanside Library, the Whisk & Brush demonstration kitchen space, opened last month. It offers a wide range of cooking and craft programs to library users.

The space was designed to deliver a wide roster of interactive activities to the community in a professional setting. Located in the Program Suite on the Lower Level of the award-winning Oceanside Library, the demonstration kitchen complements the Discovery Lab MakerSpace, the Podcast Suite, Community Gallery, three fully-equipped Community Rooms of varied sizes and configurations, and a 165-seat professional theater.

Like these spaces, the demonstration kitchen is a creative engine within this public hub of resources and activity. The elegant neutral color palette and care in the selection of durable finishes coordinates with the materials used throughout the three-level library.

Programs began right after Labor Day and will serve all ages. A professional chef or artist is present to lead individuals and groups in the scheduled activities. Cameras focused on the demonstration station deliver easy-to-view demonstration images to the lateral screens. Six cooking stations provide an opportunity for groups of four participants to follow along.

High-end appliances, easy-to-clean engineered stone counter surfaces and terrazzo flooring, and high-end ventilation create a high-quality learning experience for all participants. The room features state-of-the-art fire safety systems, abundant storage, a hand-washing station, and a commercial kitchen scullery for staging materials and professional-grade washing of the cookware. A commercial blast chiller rapidly drops food temperatures down freezing temperatures to lock in nutrients, prevent bacterial growth, and preserve texture.
