Sometimes, you just want what you want — and when the finished product makes you wake up and smile because it works perfectly, that’s what it’s all about.

This client has three dogs of all different sizes, including one 137 lb. Bullmastiff who doesn’t quite understand that just because he can see through the glass or screen door doesn’t mean he can walk through it.

Now the big boy can still see Mom and Dad in the kitchen while hanging outside, without damaging these beautiful doors.

With the client’s input, we came up with this custom gate concept to complement the window well railings, stoop rails, and ramp rails we fabricated and installed throughout the exterior of their newly built home.

Functional, durable, and designed to look like it belonged there from day one.

Our massive **13-foot barn doors**, built for the **Twisted Cow family**.

When closed, these doors were designed to create a feeling that something important, magical, and maybe even a little secretive was being produced behind them.

But when opened, the intention was different.

They were meant to make you feel like you’re stepping into a place that matters. A place where craftsmanship, tradition, and pride all come together. A place where Master Distiller **John Pawluk** does what he does best — creating handcrafted spirits with consistency, care, and pride.

The finished product — where craftsmanship, custom fabrication, and custom painting all come together.

For this project, we wanted the new handrails and ramp extension to complement the rustic bridge with bamboo-style railings that we designed and custom fabricated over 15 years ago. At the same time, we wanted the extension to bring a fresh pop to the entrance of the koi pond.

The goal was to blend the new work with the existing character while still making the entrance stand out.

I’d say we conquered the mission pretty well. 🎋

Mailbox Monday featuring this custom mailbox we designed around two specific requests from the client: keep the existing solid 6x6 bluestone post as part of the design, and incorporate a standing seam roof detail to tie the piece into the look of their newly built home.

The result is a functional architectural detail that feels like it truly belongs with the home — a little jewelry for the exterior.

This mailbox was also built with fully programmable LED accent lighting, which we’ll be sharing once electric is run to the unit. Keep an eye out for that post.

Built off the hip and made to work hard.

We custom designed and fabricated this merch display unit with two goals in mind: it had to move easily when needed, but look permanently mounted when it was in place. To make that happen, we custom fit drop-down supports that lift the casters just enough off the ground to give the unit a solid, built-in look while not in use.

The result is a clean, rugged display that fits the space, keeps the merch front and center, and helps keep curious patrons out of the top-secret distilling area.

At SEK Designs, we strive to make our clients’ lives easier by taking the start of their vision and bringing it to the next level.

We’re currently putting the finishing touches on this incredible project featuring over 200 feet of custom IPE fencing, built with absolute precision by Team Dubner. Every detail was carefully considered to create a finished product that is both highly functional and visually exceptional.

The structural elements across all 200 feet, including the steel-structured bi-folding gate system, were completed by SEK Designs. What started as a concept for a traditional sliding gate system was fully reimagined into a smarter and more efficient solution. The original design would have required a gate nearly 35 feet long with a much longer opening time. Instead, the project was redesigned using the incredible Albatros bi-folding gate system, creating a cleaner look, faster operation, and a far more practical result.

And of course, no driveway gate installation would be complete without the automation, so a big thank you to Ed Mojica Installations for making that part a success.

This custom piece was designed to complement the bamboo bridge we built years ago, and the timeline was tight. We had just one week to design, fabricate, and install it before our friends at White Post Farms opened their doors for the season.

Thanks to AIDI having the components we needed in stock and ready to go, we were able to follow through with our original design without compromise.

Complimenting a Dubner Construction project with two 20x9 Sekter Boxes gives the client a great spot to entertain guests without any fuss inside the house, while also giving the family another vantage point of the property—bringing the enjoyment of the fruits of their labor to another level.

The top Sekter box was custom outfitted and carefully designed alongside the customer. It features two custom roll-up doors—one for the bar service area and a second full roll-up door to open up the entire space on nicer days. It’s also equipped with a secondary man door, allowing easy access even when the weather isn’t cooperating.

Above the back and front left corners, custom designed, cable-style overhangs were installed with hidden planters designed for growing greenery—giving the Sekter Box a more organic, natural feel. But it didn’t stop there. The planters were built with an automatic watering system and a concealed gutter system, making the greenery a completely worry-free addition.

The bottom box was set and outfitted by the Dubner crew, creating a simple outdoor theater experience with arena-style seating and just the right amount of accent lighting to complete the space.
