After more than 36 years with Martin/Martin and nearly 40 years in engineering, Tim Lack will retire at the end of this year, closing an extraordinary chapter filled with remarkable projects, lasting friendships, and a love for structural engineering.

Tim’s career reflects what makes this profession so rewarding: challenging problems, creative solutions, and talented people working together to bring ambitious ideas to life. His contributions will live on in the projects he helped shape and the relationships he built with colleagues, clients, architects, and contractors. Throughout his career, he has emphasized that becoming great at anything takes both mentorship and opportunity.

We are grateful to have been part of his journey and proud of the lasting mark he leaves on our firm. Please join us in thanking Tim for 36 incredible years and wishing him and his wife, Michelle, all the best in the adventures ahead.

Throughout more than two decades in the industry, Emily has demonstrated that commitment through leadership and service at the local, state, and national levels, including SEAONC, SEAOC, NCSEA, and ASCE.
In addition to serving as a Principal and managing Martin/Martin’s San Francisco Bay Area offices, Emily continues to help advance the profession through her work in code development, licensure, resilience, and structural engineering advocacy.

Yesterday marked an exciting milestone for Denver Summit FC and the future of women’s professional sports in Colorado with the groundbreaking of the club’s permanent home at Santa Fe Yards.
Martin/Martin’s Melyssa Hatzell, PE, and Ryan Stratman, PE, were on hand to celebrate the start of construction and represent our team, which is providing civil engineering services for this transformational project.
Located at South Broadway and I-25, the 14-acre Santa Fe Yards development will be anchored by a purpose-built stadium featuring 12,500 seats and standing-room capacity for up to 13,000 fans. Beyond the pitch, the development is envisioned as a year-round destination that brings together professional soccer, public spaces, recreation, and community.
We’re proud to be part of the team helping bring this new home for Denver Summit FC, and an exciting new chapter for women’s sports, to life!

School is back in session, and so are field trips!

We recently toured Kaia Residences, a mixed-use high-rise under construction at 8th and Lincoln in Denver. Martin/Martin provided structural engineering services for the project, giving our team a chance to see our work in action.

Our Construction Engineering Services group recently toured the newly completed Anythink Libraries Nature Library in Thornton, CO.

Martin/Martin customized the project’s architectural metal elements to feel at home in the organic space. Soft curves and branching forms transform structural components into extensions of the nature-inspired design.

Continuing our summer concert series… well concert support… Before RÜFÜS DU SOL brings the sound, lights, and energy Saturday night to Folsom Field, Martin/Martin is helping make sure the stage is ready for all the electric beats.
Our Investigative Engineering team was recently at the University of Colorado Boulder reviewing the temporary stage and rigging systems ahead of the show. With a production as immersive as RÜFÜS DU SOL, there’s an impressive amount of engineering supporting everything fans see overhead and on stage.
When the lights come up and the first beat drops, enjoy the show knowing our team had a hand in what’s happening behind, and above, the scenes.

We're excited to be part of the upcoming Mass Timber Group Summit in Denver!
Our team will be sharing expertise both in the field and in the classroom:
Nick Ereckson and Rob Suarez will be leading project tours of the National Western Legacy Building (with Tryba) and the SE Aurora Recreation Center (with Populous).
Kirby Beegles will present "Mass Timber Doesn't Have to Be All or Nothing," exploring how mass timber can be successfully integrated into projects where it isn't the primary structural system. His session will cover real-world project examples, design strategies, and key coordination and detailing considerations that help teams confidently incorporate mass timber into a wide range of buildings.
