Michigan lawmakers are exploring one possible answer: BETTER DRIVER EDUCATION

Following a troubling series of work zone crashes—including the deaths of two MDOT roadway workers—lawmakers have introduced legislation that would add dedicated work zone safety instruction to driver education.

The proposed training would teach new drivers how to recognize and navigate construction zones, protect roadway workers and motorists, and understand the laws surrounding work zones.

It was an honor to spend time with so many safety driven and future focused colleagues Purdues 2026 Annual Autonomous Maintenance Technology (ATM) Peer Exchange. We had a great time presenting and an incredible response to X-Cone. X-cone has been utilized across the world in 17 countries over past 12 years, and we think it's about to get country #18 pretty soon.

We are incredibly grateful to , Yiheng Feng, and Michael Lane of INDOT for arranging this amazing opportunity to show our DOT colleagues what's on the horizon of work zone safety. And thank you to all of our State DOT and roadway colleagues for taking their employees safety seriously.

We look forward to introducing X-Cone to more state officials in the coming months, and eventually receiving the nations first demo truck.
