The FM Area Diversion Project Recognition Event honored the many people and partners whose hard work and collaboration have helped make this project possible. We’re proud to have served on this monumental project, which will be substantially completed this fall and ready to provide permanent, reliable flood protection next spring.

HEI's Kiah Sagami will be giving a presentation, “Transforming Watershed Planning with GIS and LiDAR”, with Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources' Henry Van Offelen at the upcoming MN GIS/LIS Consortium Conference.

This session showcases how GIS technologies, including hydro-conditioned DEMs, support watershed planning and provide the geospatial insights needed to drive informed decisions and meaningful outcomes.

Strong communities don't happen by accident. They're shaped through planning, collaboration, and public involvement.

As part of Community Planning Month, we're proud to highlight our work with the South Eastern Council of Governments (SECOG) on a regional Safe Streets for All Action (SS4A) Plan covering 19 cities and 1 county in southeastern South Dakota. Through extensive public engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and data-driven safety analysis, the completed plan identifies transportation safety priorities, recommends implementation strategies, and provides participating communities with a roadmap to pursue future safety improvements and funding opportunities.

Public input helped shape the plan's vision and priorities, demonstrating the important role community voices play in planning for the future.
