There's no better way to embrace the fall vibes and kick off Halloween weekend than with an office chili cook-off!

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to whip up a delicious batch of chili! We enjoyed every single one, but ultimately, Kevin's chili was voted the crowd favorite, earning him the title of 2026 I&L Chili Cook-Off winner!

At Intuition & Logic, our Streams & Channel Stabilization services focus on developing practical, long-term solutions to address erosion, improve channel stability, protect surrounding infrastructure, and support healthier waterways. From bank stabilization and grade control to natural channel design and restoration, our team works to create solutions built to perform for years to come.

📍 The photos featured in this post are from the Deadman’s Run Tributary in Lincoln, Nebraska. The tributary had become deeply incised, resulting in widespread bank erosion that damaged and threatened utilities and valuable property.

Intuition & Logic provided analysis and channel restoration design. The final design relocated a portion of the previously straightened channel back into its floodplain and restored a more natural, sinuous channel form. Rock grade control structures and vegetated bank stabilization were also incorporated to help stabilize the stream.

The before, after, and seven-years-later photos highlight the long-term results of thoughtful stream restoration and stabilization.

Employee Spotlight: Kelton’s Engineers Without Borders Trip to Bolivia!

We’re proud to spotlight I&L’s own Kelton, who recently traveled to Bolivia with Engineers Without Borders (EWB) to support communities working toward more reliable access to clean water.
During the trip, Kelton and the EWB team began working with the community of Khasu, where they surveyed local households and gathered data to better understand challenges with the community’s existing water distribution system. The team will use this information to evaluate potential solutions and plan future improvements.

The team also returned to Komucala, where EWB has been working for several years. There, they documented the community’s newly constructed water distribution system and celebrated the opening of a new water storage tank — an exciting milestone made possible through collaboration between EWB and the local community.

For Kelton, one of the biggest highlights was getting to know the people behind the project.

We’re proud to have team members like Kelton who use their engineering skills to make an impact beyond our own communities. Great work, Kelton! 👏
