At Flow Dynamics, we enjoy tackling applications where reliability and performance matter most.

When a steel mill approached us with ongoing issues related to an existing gauge cylinder position sensing solution, the challenge was clear: maintain the original equipment design while improving reliability, accuracy, and lead times.

Working closely with the customer, our engineering team developed a retrofit solution that allowed the existing housing to accept a Temposonics R-Series V sensor. The result preserved the original form, fit, and function while delivering the accuracy and durability required for a critical steel thickness measurement application.

Today, these retrofitted units are operating successfully at multiple steel mills, helping ensure precise gauge control and consistent product quality. After more than a year of proven performance, the customer continues to expand the solution throughout their operation.

When standard solutions fall short, Flow Dynamics is ready to engineer the right answer.
