🛠️𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙚- 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙙! Blink and you'll miss it, or you might just see a bush covered hillside!

Coal plays an important role in many industries, including heating, electricity generation, cement production and steel manufacturing- the list goes on!

While out on the road completing stock takes, Amy was offered a tour of the mine, and being a miner's daughter, she jumped at the opportunity!

The tour was incredibly educational. Amy learnt more about where the hoses and fittings she regularly replenishes end up, the machinery used on site and how SM Hydraulics & Auto Electrical help keep these machines maintained and running.

She also got to see the mine in action, meet some of the people who keep everything moving, learn about the employees, health and safety practices, and gain an insight into the mine's restoration efforts.

The restoration was impressive! Amy couldn't believe that some areas of the hillside had previously been mined- you genuinely wouldn't know by looking at them! 🌲🌳🌿

𝑭𝒍𝒖𝒊𝒅 𝑷𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍'𝒔 𝑫𝒂𝒚 - celebrated annually on June 19th.

Established by the International Fluid Power Society (IFPS), the date commemorates the birthday of Blaise Pascal, the French mathematician and physicist whose foundational work in hydrodynamics and pneumatics shaped the industry. His invention of the hydraulic press revolutionized machinery and paved the way for all future innovations in fluid power.

This is the day to recognize the engineers, technicians, mechanics, and specialists who keep the hydraulic and pneumatic industries moving.

Fluid Power is often described as a “hidden giant”

It’s everywhere! —quietly powering machinery, vehicles, planes, ships, trains, etc. Enabling manufacturing processes, transportation and supporting mining and agriculture.

SM Hydraulics & Auto Electrical is proud to be sponsoring hole #15 at the Westland Classic Golf Tournament held at the Greymouth Golf Course again this year! ⛳️

It's shaping up to be an incredible two-day event, with 144 players teeing off each day.

Amy has been busy behind the scenes all week writing up the player cards and helping with event set up to make sure everything runs smoothly.
