Gidday everyone,
It’s been a while since I’ve posted — over a year now. Last April I scaled back the fabrication side to return to flying helicopters full-time on the West Coast. The flying is excellent, but I’ve kept the engineering company running in the background.
When I’m home between rosters I’m usually in the shop fabricating or repairing something.
When I’m on my roster I’m still doing CAD design in my spare time, designing
custom engineering solutions.

After a busy week of various jobs, I took a break to do some more on the sluice I have been thinking of building.

It has a wide mouth for low water levels in creeks to get enough flow.

An entry flare with a step down creates a vortices which breaks the surface tension for fine gold.

It’s paired with 8x32 inch combo dream mat, so it’s going to be very interesting to see the recovery with it.

I’m going to add a handle and adjustable legs to make getting the right angle so easy

The workshop has been a whole lot quieter with Ethan away on block course…
But the noise maker has returned with his block course project.
He added a heap of extras to the design they had to work to.
Gotta be custom!

We finished John’s roof rack off today.
It’s John’s design and has come out really nice.
The 270 awning really tops it off

Bit of an update on the patrol.
I’m swapping the battery to the passenger side and blanking the snorkel holes off
It’s going to get a drivers side airbox and bonnet entry snorkel.
The transmission is back together with the modified transmission control unit.
I have also done a abs and stability control delete, as it’s getting a hydraulic brake booster and braided lines to get it really stopping.
