Some good progress made on the Scania 143 restoration.

All parts off, repaired, blasted, painted and replacement parts where required. Partial re pipe where required.

Refitted with new bolts and keeping original nut size where possible.

Scania 143 restoration progress update

Full service completed on all 3 axles

- New backing plates
- Full hub strip clean and re-grease
- New Half shaft seals, wheel seals and diff seals
- Fitted with fresh new brake linings and components
- Spring bushes pressed out and replaced

A selection of worn-out brackets remanufactured in house back to original specification.

The chassis and kit of parts are now ready for the next stage of restoration. They will undergo sand blasting and paint work to primer level, before the rebuild process can get underway.

Busy week on the Scania 143 restoration. Chassis stripped and plenty of parts repaired. Axle service’s next week then it will be ready for sand blasting.

Nice little fabrication job carried out on a skelly trailer repurposed as a show hospitality trailer.

Multiple new chequer plate panels and catwalk section made. Re designed and replaced the rear platform removable mounting brackets. New aluminium rear bumper and brackets fitted. New side marker light brackets fabricated. Plenty of other small detailed improvements.

The trailers next step was a full respray so a courtesy inspection of the chassis revealed some extensive cracks and rotten sections. All affected areas were fully addressed and welded.
