A new chapter in Tanzania’s energy future begins today.
Elsewedy Electric proudly celebrates the official inauguration of the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant and Dam, one of Africa’s largest hydropower developments.
The ceremony was held in the presence of H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of United Republic of Tanzania, and attended by H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt; H.E. Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities; H.E. Prof. Hani Sewilam, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation; and a high-level Egyptian delegation.
Also attending were Eng. Ahmed Elsewedy, CEO of Elsewedy Electric; Eng. Wael Hamdy, Group VP; Eng. Hesham Hegazy, CEO of Elsewedy Electric PSP; Eng. Ahmed El Assar, Chairman and CEO of The Arab Contractors; and Eng. Heba Elela, Vice Chairman of The Arab Contractors.
Delivered by Elsewedy Electric and The Arab Contractors, the project reflects strong Egyptian-Tanzanian cooperation and Egyptian capabilities in delivering major projects across Africa.
With 2,115 MW of capacity and a 34 billion m³ reservoir, the project will strengthen Tanzania’s energy supply and support economic and social development.
We are honored to have delivered the project’s electrical and electromechanical systems and contributed to an achievement that will create lasting impact for Tanzania and its people.
خطوة جديدة في مستقبل الطاقة في تنزانيا تبدأ اليوم.
تفخر السويدي إليكتريك بالافتتاح الرسمي لسد ومحطة جوليوس نيريري الكهرومائية، أحد أكبر مشروعات الطاقة الكهرومائية في أفريقيا.
وشهد مراسم الافتتاح فخامة الدكتورة سامية حسن صلوحي، رئيسة جمهورية تنزانيا المتحدة، بحضور الدكتور مصطفى مدبولي، رئيس مجلس الوزراء، والمهندسة راندة المنشاوي، وزيرة الإسكان والمرافق والمجتمعات العمرانية، والدكتور هاني سويلم، وزير الموارد المائية والري، إلى جانب وفد مصري رفيع المستوى.
كما حضر المهندس أحمد السويدي، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة السويدي إليكتريك، والمهندس وائل حمدي، نائب رئيس المجموعة، والمهندس هشام حجازي، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة السويدي إليكتريك PSP، والمهندس أحمد العصار، رئيس مجلس الإدارة والرئيس التنفيذي لشركة المقاولون العرب، والمهندسة هبة أبو العلا، نائب رئيس مجلس إدارة شركة المقاولون العرب.
ونفذ المشروع تحالف السويدي إليكتريك والمقاولون العرب، ليجسد قوة التعاون المصري التنزاني وقدرات الشركات المصرية على تنفيذ المشروعات الكبرى في أفريقيا.
وبقدرة 2,115 ميجاوات وسعة خزان تبلغ نحو 34 مليار متر مكعب، يدعم المشروع إمدادات الطاقة والتنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية في تنزانيا.
ونعتز بمساهمتنا في تنفيذ وتركيب الأنظمة الكهربائية والكهروميكانيكية للمشروع، والمشاركة في إنجاز سيترك أثرًا مستدامًا في تنزانيا لأجيال قادمة.
