What happens if raw water never reaches the treatment process?
Before a single litre can be processed, it first needs to reach the treatment works. The pumpstation is the first link in the treatment chain, drawing raw water from the dam and lifting it into the plant. Without it, every stage that follows simply cannot operate.

At Driekoppies Water Treatment Works, our team has made excellent progress on the intake pumpstation, laying the foundation for a treatment process designed to deliver a safe, reliable water supply for the surrounding community.

This week we welcomed Mpumalanga MEC Speed Mashilo (CoGHSTA) and his team at the Driekoppies Regional Bulk Water Scheme in Nkomazi.

As the consulting engineer on this critical project, it was encouraging to walk the site with the MEC as he monitored progress.

Funded by the Department of Water and Sanitation, this scheme will bring clean, reliable water to 14 villages around Driekoppies, serving close to 190 000 people in a drought-prone community that has waited far too long.

Every step forward means real relief for residents. We remain fully committed to delivering this project on time and to the highest standard.
