4x2 vs 4x4 TLB — WHICH ONE ACTUALLY FITS YOUR SITE? 🚜

Not the same machine with an extra drive option. Different tool for a different job.

4x2 (rear-wheel drive):
- Lighter
- More fuel-efficient
- Easier on tyres.
- Built for flat, compacted ground — road work, urban sites, general digging where traction isn't the fight.
- Lower running costs over the life of the machine.

4x4 (all-wheel drive):
- Power to all four wheels means traction and stability on uneven, muddy, sloped, or loose ground — civil sites, rural work.
- Anywhere the surface isn't doing you any favours.

Two real examples on our yard right now:

🔹 JCB 3CX 4x2 TLB (2007) — R490,000 + VAT. Straightforward, dependable, built for the jobs where a 4x2 is genuinely the smarter buy.
