This made our day! The team from City Property paid their first visit to our Pretoria branch and walked out smiling, stopping to take photos in their new footwear before they even left the parking lot.

That kind of reaction says more than we ever could.

Getting the right fit, the right boot for the job, and feeling good in what you wear really matters to us.

We are glad we could be part of this moment, and we hope to see you soon!

Our team joined Brady on Thursday for an in-depth training day focused on their printer range.

Getting into the detail of how the technology works and where it fits across different environments is the kind of knowledge that helps us give better guidance to our customers.

Brady also gave us a preview of some new launches on the way, with broader versatility across industrial and laboratory applications. More on that when the time comes.

Thank you for having us Brady Corporation !

How much of your site is working in the dark?

In high-risk environments, poor visibility increases the chance of mistakes, delays, and serious incidents. Thatโ€™s where the right lighting makes a real difference.

Airstar Safety Lighting provides powerful, glare-free 360ยฐ illumination that lights up your entire work area in minutes.

No harsh shadows. No blind spots. Just clear visibility where your team needs it most.

Built for construction, mining, maintenance, and emergency response, itโ€™s a practical solution for teams that need to work safely and efficiently, even in low-light conditions.

If visibility is a risk on your site, itโ€™s worth rethinking your lighting.

Work at Heights Wednesday: Roof Lifelines & Anchor Points

Before stepping onto a roof, remember: your safety starts with structural integrity.

โœ… Check the structure: Always ensure the roof is sound or inspected by a structural engineer.
โœ… Stay connected: Lifelines must allow continuous connection while working on IBR roofs to prevent falls through the surface.
โœ… Use certified systems only: Every component, from anchor points to lanyards, must meet EN 355 and EN 795 standards.
โœ… Avoid shortcuts: Crosby clamps and non-certified components are not designed for fall forces.

๐Ÿ’ก Pro Tip: Always have your lifeline system installed and signed off by an OEM-certified professional. If one part isnโ€™t certified, the entire system is compromised.

PPE is often selected based on certification and specifications.

But real protection depends on how it performs on site, with real people, in real conditions.

Over time, workers can become accustomed to their environment, which means important warning signs may no longer be noticed.
That makes it harder to identify when PPE is not performing as intended.

Fit testing helps close that gap by confirming actual performance on the individual wearer, not just what is expected on paper.

Because safety should never be assumed. It should be verified.

Reliable protection starts with trusted equipment.

In this video, one of our team members demonstrates a proper fit of a 3M respirator, part of the range of PPE brands we supply to support safer working environments across South Africa.

We work closely with safety teams, buyers, and site managers to make sure they have access to equipment they can rely on, backed by guidance on correct use and application.

Shop online for trusted PPE brands, available when and where you need them.

Work at Heights Wednesday: Maintaining, Servicing, and Discarding Fall Protection Equipment

Fall protection gear saves lives, but only if itโ€™s properly maintained, serviced, and discarded when necessary. While the use of full-body harnesses and lifelines is widely understood, the upkeep and safe disposal of this equipment are just as critical.

Hereโ€™s what you need to know:

โœ… Servicing Fall Protection Equipment
Not all equipment is designed to be serviced. Self-Retracting Lifelines (SRLs), winches, and rescue hubs can be maintained, but only by an authorised service centre. Only an OEM like 3M can authorise a service provider, as the stakes are high: failure of a Category 3 PPE could result in fatal consequences and significant liability.

โœ… Proper Disposal Matters
Gear that cannot be serviced or re-certified must be destroyed to prevent any chance of reuse. Damaged or compromised equipment finding its way back into circulation poses a serious risk.

โœ… Incident Reporting Saves Lives
Every incident involving fall protection gear, whether or not thereโ€™s an injury, must be reported. This ensures unsafe equipment is removed from use and helps strengthen workplace safety systems.

โœ… Follow Inspection Protocols
๐Ÿ”น Pre-Use Inspections โ€“ Carried out by the user before every use (US229998 standard).
๐Ÿ”น Periodic Inspections โ€“ Done every 3, 6, or 12 months by a Subject Matter Expert (SME). These checks identify wear, damage, or alterations that could compromise safety.

๐Ÿ“Œ Key Takeaway: The integrity of fall protection equipment is non-negotiable. From servicing to disposal, every step plays a vital role in keeping workers safe at height.
