Meet our Blanchard rotary surface grinder!While it looks like a simple green setup from the outside, this powerhouse uses a massive rotating magnetic table to lock heavy steel plates in place. A heavy-duty vertical grinding head then spins over the top to flatten broad surfaces down to extreme, precise tolerances.

It is a vital step in prepping raw materials for the high-quality industrial components we manufacture every day.

Before the 1950s, stamping deep, seamless stainless steel basins was an absolute nightmare.

Traditional metal presses constantly scratched, warped, or cracked the material.That changed when inventors Fred Leuthesser, Jr. and John Fox replaced the rigid steel top mold with a flexible rubber bladder backed by pressurized oil.

The oil distributed force perfectly, shaping the metal flawlessly without a single scratch.

They patented it as "hydramolding": the brilliant ancestor of modern sheet hydroforming!

By eliminating ugly tool marks and slashing tooling costs, this kitchen-sink breakthrough laid the exact groundwork for how we shape complex parts today.

At Jones Metal, we live in the low-to-medium volume world, hundreds to a few thousand parts a year, not tens of thousands off a line. Did you know that Jones Metal Products started out making household pots, pans, and enamelware back in 1923?

Our major shift into specialized manufacturing came in 1957. That is when we took a massive gamble on a revolutionary piece of technology: a 32-inch Cincinnati Hydroform press.

By using high fluid pressure and a flexible rubber diaphragm instead of traditional, expensive hard tooling, we completely bypassed traditional metal stamping limits. That single strategic pivot completely rewrote our history.
