Pyne Sand & Stone was owned and led by Jim Pyne for 60 years, building a legacy of quality, integrity, and dedication to customers. In the summer of 2015, family friend Andy Leonard joined the company to assist Jim in managing its operations. Over the next four years, Andy worked closely with Jim, learning the business and contributing to its continued success.
In 2019, Andy Leonard purchased Pyne Sand & Stone. While following in Jim Pyne’s footsteps was no small task, Andy embraced the challenge and continued the company’s tradition of providing high-quality materials and exceptional customer service. He proudly reinvests a significant portion of the company’s revenue back into the business, keeping equipment in top condition and late-model, reflecting his commitment to excellence.
Andy’s leadership extends beyond the business. He treats employees like family, fostering loyalty, respect, and a shared sense of purpose. In addition, he has been a generous supporter of the local community, demonstrating the same dedication and integrity that have defined Pyne Sand & Stone for decades.
At this time, Andy has made the difficult decision to hand the operations of Pyne Sand & Stone over to our trusted business associates and friends at Dauphinais Concrete as he enters semi-retirement. While this was not an easy choice, it was made easier knowing the company’s operations are going into capable hands. The Dauphinais family has been successfully involved in sand, gravel, and concrete operations for nearly a century and will take over Pyne Sand’s operations with a near-seamless transition. This partnership is an ideal fit, as Dauphinais Concrete is a recognized leader in the industry, known for providing high-quality materials and a strong focus on exceptional customer service.
“A great leader’s influence is never truly gone, as their legacy lives on in the careers they helped shape.”
As this chapter ends, a new one begins. We embrace the change and look forward to a promising future. We wish Andy all the best and the greatest happiness in his future endeavors.
