Allegheny Millwork & Lumber

AM&L is a premier lumberyard serving Pittsburgh and its surrounding areas for over 40 years.

We carry high-quality building materials, boards, cabinetry, ceiling & wall collections, countertops, decking, exterior & interior doors, flooring, hardware, lumber, moulding & trim, plywood, railings, stairs, and windows. Our showroom offers extensive, hands-on education and visuals to allow for our customers to have complete product knowledge of the materials that we offer. Visit with one of our Kitchen & Bath department designers and allow for them to help your ideas become reality. Create vision boards with our team to design an eye catching moulding and trim combination, then complete your project's aesthetic with a window and door from brands that we trust to not only be visually pleasing, but also high performing. We offer local delivery, window and exterior door installation, window measuring, take offs, and design services.

Kolbe Windows and Doors Ultra Series combines warm wood interiors with a durable extruded aluminum exterior, offering the character of wood inside without asking it to do the work of an exterior material.

The line offers more than 50 standard exterior colors, a range of wood species and 20+ standard interior finishes, along with choices in divided lites, hardware and glass. With windows, patio doors, entry doors and custom shapes available within the same series, an entire project can share a consistent design language.

Visit Allegheny Millwork & Lumber to compare the options in person and work with our team to narrow down the right combination for your project.

You don’t need to know exactly what you need before you ask for a quote, but a little preparation can make that first conversation much more useful.

Basic measurements and photos give us a sense of the project. Quantity and timeline help narrow the possibilities. And knowing your installation plans and general budget helps us recommend options that actually make sense for you.

Swipe through our quick checklist, then bring us what you have. We’ll help figure out the rest!

The Allegheny Millwork & Lumber Moulding Room is what design dreams are made of.

With hundreds of profiles to explore, it’s a reminder that some of the most impactful details in a home aren’t always the biggest ones. The right crown, casing, or trim can add character, define a space, and make an entire room feel more considered.

Come in, take a look around, and find the detail that finishes the room.

Kolbe Windows and Doors VistaLuxe® AL uses slim aluminum profiles to create larger expanses of glass with fewer visual interruptions. Built on Reynaers Aluminium system profiles, the line pairs thermally broken frames with streamlined European-style hardware and a choice of powder-coated or anodized finishes.

With options ranging from tilt-turn and casement windows to multi-slide, lift & slide, folding and pivot doors, VistaLuxe AL can carry the same clean architectural language across an entire project.

We talk a lot about the quality of the products we carry. But what really sets Allegheny Millwork & Lumber apart is the people behind them.

Our team brings knowledge, experience, and a genuine willingness to help to every conversation. Whether you’re planning an entire home, working through the details of a renovation, or just have a question about the right product for a small project, there’s always someone here ready to help you figure out what comes next.

Great products matter. Having the right people to help you choose and use them matters just as much.

Almost everything else in a house gets picked for how well it resists change. The counter that won’t stain. The floor that won’t scratch. The finish that will look the same ten years from now.

Living finishes are one of the few choices where the opposite is the point. Unlacquered brass, oil-rubbed bronze and other living finishes react to touch, air, moisture and time. They darken, wear, and develop a patina unique to the way they’re used.

That first bit of change can be surprising if you aren’t expecting it. But the finish isn’t failing. It’s doing exactly what it was made to do.

It was a perfect fall day for the 2026 Brighton Heights House Tour hosted by the Brighton Heights Citizens Federation!

Allegheny Millwork & Lumber was proud to sponsor trolley transportation for this year’s event, which welcomed visitors to explore eight unique properties throughout the neighborhood. We spent much of the day walking from house to house, taking in the architecture, design, and restoration work along the way—but of course, we had to hop aboard the trolley for at least one ride.

After the tour, the day continued at Legion Memorial Park with live music, food trucks, vendors, and the BHCF & Allegheny City Brewing Summer Series.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring the event together. We’re always glad to support opportunities that celebrate Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods, architecture, and community.

The look of steel. The warmth of wood.

Kolbe Windows and Doors VistaLuxe® WD brings two distinct aesthetics together: the narrow frames and divided lites associated with steel windows, paired with the warmth of real wood on the interior.

Its extruded aluminum exterior is available in Flush or Accent styles, while slim profiles allow for larger daylight openings. Multiple units can also be combined to create expansive walls of glass without losing the warmth that wood brings to the interior.

Considering VistaLuxe WD for an upcoming project? Visit Allegheny Millwork & Lumber to compare wood species, exterior finishes and configurations with our team.

Glass does a lot more than bring light into a building.

At our latest AIA CEU Lunch & Learn, Sam Anderson of Kolbe Windows & Doors took a closer look at how glass selection affects everything from occupant comfort and safety to energy performance and the building envelope as a whole.

The conversation covered glass types, performance characteristics and insulated glass units, with a focus on how glass, windows and doors can work together to support both design intent and long-term performance.

Thank you to Sam and Kolbe Windows & Doors for joining us, and to everyone who spent their lunch learning with us!
