In 1961, Food Machinery and Chemical Corporation officially became FMC Corporation, marking another step in the company’s continued evolution.

At the time, FMC was known for its broad manufacturing capabilities across machinery and chemical products. But over the decades, that foundation continued to evolve into the agricultural sciences company we know today: one focused on helping growers meet changing challenges in the field through science-driven innovation.

That same spirit of evolution continues in FMC’s pipeline today. With new active ingredients like Isoflex® active, fluindapyr, Dodhylex® active and rimisoxafen, FMC is advancing differentiated technologies designed to better meet the needs of growers around the world.

As pest resistance increases, growers need new and innovative solutions to protect their crops. Biological solutions like Sofero® pheromone solutions naturally control pest populations by interfering with their mating signals to prevent reproduction. Integrating pheromones into a pest management system with chemical and precision agriculture technologies like Arc® farm intelligence, shifts pest management from reactive to predictive, allowing growers to get ahead of pest damage.

Learn more about how Sofero® and Arc® farm intelligence support more targeted applications, lower environmental impact and improved productivity in our 2025 Sustainability Report: https://www.fmc.com/sites/default/files/2026-06/FMC_2025_Sustainability_Report_v2_0.pdf.

Last month, our 2026 intern class had the opportunity to visit FMC’s Stine Research Center. Led by Zahoor Ganie and Ramandeep Sandhi, Global R&D Managers for Herbicide and Insecticide Biology, respectively, interns toured the onsite farm and research center, learning how teams across R&D work together to bring new crop protection solutions to market. Scientists from across the organization shared insights into fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, microbials/biologicals and pheromones, and explained what it takes to narrow more than 50,000 compounds down to a single product for growers

Stine Research Center is where innovation and discovery help shape the future of agriculture. As the company’s global research and development hub, Stine plays a key role in advancing new crop protection solutions from early discovery through testing and development. That work has helped advance unique innovations like Dodhylex™ active and Isoflex™ active, reflecting the strength of FMC’s pipeline and commitment to delivering new solutions for growers.

Last month, FMC announced the first global regulatory submission for rimisoxafen with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, marking an important milestone in the advancement of next-generation w**d control technology.

As herbicide resistance continues to create new challenges for growers, innovation must move beyond incremental improvements. Rimisoxafen, the first dual-mode-of-action herbicide advanced in years, reflects how scientific discovery, field validation and a strong R&D pipeline can help bring forward new tools designed for the realities of modern agriculture.

In 2025, we introduced new crop protection solutions designed to help farmers increase productivity, manage resistance and improve resilience in the face of growing challenges.

From providing a new tool to address herbicide resistance in Great Britain to promoting sustainable rice production in Peru, these launches reflect how our R&D translates into real-world impact – supporting farmers, strengthening food systems and advancing sustainability.

FMC’s global expansion continued throughout the 1950s with joint ventures in Japan and Brazil to manufacture hydrogen peroxide, as well as licensing agreements to produce chemicals in Argentina and petroleum equipment in Mexico and Japan. With new machinery lines in Córdoba, Argentina, FMC strengthened its international presence and its commitment to serving the needs of communities around the world.

That same dedication continues today as FMC works to bring innovative solutions to growers around the world, including the recent European Union approval of Isoflex® active, one of the first new herbicide approvals in the region since 2019.
