Most facilities don't have an energy problem.

They have a heat efficiency problem.

Every day, valuable energy escapes through exhaust, cooling, and process waste energy that's already been paid for.

Smarter heat transfer changes that:

→ Recover waste heat instead of venting it

→ Reduce fuel consumption and emissions

→ Improve process stability and reliability

→ Extend equipment life through better thermal design

From refining and food processing to paper, packaging, and data infrastructure improving heat efficiency is one of the most practical ways to reduce environmental impact without sacrificing performance.

That's the focus at PRE-heat: turning wasted energy into usable performance.

This Earth Day, one question worth asking:

How much of your energy is actually being used and how much is slipping away? If you don't know the answer, we can find out together at (920) 564-6876 or [email protected]

♻️ Efficient heat transfer. Sustainable operations. Real-world impact.

For many years, PRE‑heat has proudly supported Sheboygan's Fresh Meals On Wheels by providing custom fabrication pieces.

These pieces are featured in their June-A-Palooza event on June 27 from 4-9:30 at Christopher Farm & Garden

This is something we’ve never talked about much, but it matters to us.

Fresh Meals On Wheels plays a vital role in our local community, helping ensure neighbors receive nutritious meals and human connection.

We’re grateful that our team’s skills and hands‑on manufacturing capabilities can quietly support that mission behind the scenes.

Giving back where we live and work has always been part of who we are.

We’re thankful for the opportunity to help, and for organizations like Sheboygan Meals on Wheels that show up every day for our community.

Most Wisconsin manufacturers have looked at heat recovery at least once.

Most of them didn't move forward.

Not because the system wouldn't work. Because the economics never got strong enough to justify it.

That's the gap we've spent years watching projects fall into and it's the gap we can now help close.

PRE-heat is officially an approved Trade Ally with Focus on Energy.

This changes what we bring to a project.

Before, we could design a system that technically worked. Now we can help make sure the project is aligned for incentives from day one so the numbers that matter to your finance team actually add up.

What that looks like in practice:

Incentive eligibility gets built into the design phase, not bolted on after. Projects that would have stalled at the approval stage move forward. Payback periods that were marginal become compelling.

The projects that make it through aren't always the ones with the best technical design.

They're the ones where someone connected the dots early enough between the energy opportunity, the available incentives, and the internal approval process.

We can now be that connection for Wisconsin manufacturers.

This applies to new construction, facility expansions, and retrofit projects.

Anywhere waste heat exists, there's now a clearer path to capturing it and justifying the investment.

Save this post if you're evaluating heat recovery in the next 12 months.

One question: if you've looked at heat recovery before and didn't move forward was it really a technical issue, or did the economics never get strong enough?

The Hidden Cost of Blowing Money Through the Roof

Most manufacturing plants lose money every day and it never shows up as a line item.

Here’s where it goes

Every day, facilities exhaust millions of BTUs of usable heat straight out their roof stacks.

From:

• Curing ovens

• Weld fume collectors

• Air compressors

• Powder coating lines

• Drying operations

That hot exhaust is usually treated as waste. In reality, it’s paid-for energy leaving the building.

Two facts most plants can’t ignore anymore:

- That heat has already been paid for.

- Utility rates keep climbing.

Most manufacturers aren’t careless with energy. They’re focused on throughput, uptime, and safety not chasing exhaust air.

But if your facility has multiple stacks pushing hot air through the roof, you may be sitting on one of the largest untapped cost-reduction opportunities in the plant.

With the right heat-recovery approach, that waste heat can be captured and reused cutting fuel consumption and reducing operating costs without disrupting production.

Quick question for operators and engineers:

How many exhaust stacks are running in your facility today?

If you want to understand how much recoverable energy your plant may have, you can reach us at: (920) 564-6876 or [email protected]

Part 2: I’ll walk through how much energy is typically being exhausted and how to estimate it at your plant.

Excited to see the industry come together at the Green Bay Innovation Group (GBIG) 5P Showcase Expo tomorrow.

As these industries push for greater throughput, energy efficiency, and sustainable operations, one technology continues to make a transformative impact: heat exchangers.

From coating and laminating lines to film extrusion, ink curing, paper processing, thermoforming, and food‑safe packaging environments, modern heat‑exchange solutions help companies:

- Improve thermal stability and product quality

- Increase equipment uptime and reduce energy costs

- Support sustainability goals by reclaiming and reusing waste heat

- Maintain tight temperature control in forming, cooling, and converting operations

- Boost line speed without sacrificing precision

With the 5P Showcase Expo spotlighting cutting‑edge innovations ranging from recyclable films and sustainable materials to advanced printing and converting technologies heat exchangers play a critical enabling role behind the scenes. They help manufacturers meet growing demand while staying competitive in an industry that values efficiency, consistency, and responsible production.

Looking forward to connecting with fellow innovators and exploring how we can continue advancing technology across the 5P and food‑packaging sectors. If we miss you at the show feel free to reach us at (920) 564-6876 and [email protected] to explore these solutions with us.

We’ve returned from the AHR Show in Las Vegas with fresh insights and a clearer view of what’s ahead for HVACR

The HVACR industry is entering its most transformative era yet. With refrigerant transitions, electrification, decarbonization, smart building integration, affordability pressures, and workforce gaps all converging at once, innovation isn’t optional it’s essential.

Heat exchangers aren’t simply parts of a system they’re foundational to where our industry is headed. Below are just a few of the ways we’re contributing to that momentum.

What’s the biggest barrier your organization faces in meeting upcoming decarbonization goals: technology, cost, or regulatory readiness?

If you would like to discuss any of these topics in more detail, please reach out to us at (920) 564-6876 or [email protected].
