Before you start any project that involves cutting or digging into the ground, especially in a new home, call 811. This will allow utility companies to come out to your home or business and mark their lines so you do not cut into them. You also want to check the area for any drainage pipes or invisible dog fences.

Today marks the beginning of "National Safe Digging Month", and we are excited to announce that Pennsylvania 811 has received 229 proclamations, resolutions and letters of support so far (and counting)!

We urge everyone to stay safe out there by always contacting 811 at least three business days before digging. We want to extend our gratitude to all who are promoting safe digging practices across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. www.pa1call.org/SafeDiggingMonth
