The CEC crew is out here doing topo survey work for a wastewater design project in the desert Southwest — GPS rovers, ground control points, drones in the air. The whole setup.

Yes, we work in Arizona. Yes, it’s hot. No, we would not have chosen June for this. (January is right there on the calendar. Just saying.)

This is for a long-time client we’ve been building with for years — the kind of relationship where you don’t have to explain the scope twice and everyone shows up knowing what needs to get done. That’s the work worth doing.

Union Crossing keeps taking shape along Sioux Point Road, and CEC is proud to serve as the Engineer of Record behind this future neighborhood coming out of the ground in North Sioux City.

Always good to see design work move off the plans and into the field.

Fence went up last week… which means we’re getting close.

Final touches are going in now before we put the system into operation.

This one started like most good projects—trying to solve a problem. In this case, it was our own. Our team designed it, built it, and worked through it the same way we would for a client.

We’ll get into more detail later, but there’s more to this than just putting panels in the ground. The way you design, lay it out, and structure it financially matters. Done right, it’s not just about producing power—it’s about long-term savings and taking advantage of tax opportunities that aren’t always obvious at first glance.

We try to think that way for our clients every day… figured we should do it for ourselves too.
