A great project begins with trust.

Thank you to Ahmed Isa, PE, of Alpha Engineering, for introducing Cantos Inc. to Mohamed Adam, owner of May Ship Repair Contracting Corp. Mohamed, we are grateful for the opportunity to work with you and the May Ship Repair team at your Staten Island pier.

Our team is using 3D laser scanning to document the pier’s accessible existing conditions, including its deck framing and exposed structural elements. The work will provide a coordinated point cloud and existing-conditions CAD drawings to support repair planning.

Mateo Gaón and Sai Varsh*tha Reddy Kambala, thank you for bringing your care and commitment to this project. The quality of our work in the field is how we earn trust and build lasting relationships.

Regional Opportunities event, hosted by Empire State Development and GO-SEMI in Syracuse last week.

The event brought together local businesses, project leaders, and industry partners to explore procurement, subcontracting, financing, and other opportunities connected to major developments across Central New York.

For Cantos Inc., being part of conversations like these is an important opportunity to build relationships, learn about upcoming projects, and position our company for continued growth.

Growth begins with people, shared ideas, and a clear vision for the future.

It was a pleasure to bring members of the Cantos Inc. family together at our office to reflect on our progress and strategize about the company’s continued growth.

We were delighted to welcome back Priyanka, a former team member who may rejoin us soon. We were also joined by Sai, who will begin her journey with Cantos Inc. in the coming weeks, and Bharath, who may soon join us as an intern.

Alongside Mateo, Ruijie, and me, we shared an inspiring moment—learning more about one another, exchanging ideas, and envisioning what we can accomplish together.

At Cantos Inc., our growth is not only about expanding our capabilities. It is about investing in people, creating opportunities, and building a team that grows together.

The future is bright, and we are coming!

Last Friday, Mateo Gaón and Wilmer Cantos had the pleasure of representing Cantos Inc. at the FAAE Inc’s 18th Annual Invitational Golf Tournament!

We are extremely grateful to FAAE for the invitation and for organizing such an enjoyable event in support of the FAAE Scholarship Fund. The terrific weather, great food, golf, raffle prizes, and most importantly the wonderful conversations with fellow members of the engineering community made it a memorable day.

Thank you to everyone at FAAE for the warm welcome and hospitality. We had a lot of fun and look forward to continuing to support the organization and its important mission of investing in the next generation of engineers.

This past Thursday, Ruijie (Raymond) Xie and I represented Cantos Inc. at the MWBE Regional Opportunities Expo at the Javits Center.

We had valuable conversations with representatives from several city and state agencies about upcoming opportunities and how MWBE firms like ours can continue to grow, contribute, and build meaningful partnerships.

A personal highlight was reconnecting with Roxana Escobar Kariyannis. When I was at AECOM, Roxana was a great mentor to me. Her guidance and encouragement have continued to influence my professional journey, and I am truly grateful for the support she has given me over the years.

I am especially excited to see Roxana begin her entrepreneurial journey as Founder and President of NAWI Inc. I look forward to seeing her continued success as an entrepreneur and all that she will accomplish in this new chapter.

July is Disability Pride Month; a time to recognize the rights, achievements, and contributions of people with disabilities.

Accessible transportation benefits everyone: people using wheelchairs, older adults, parents with strollers, travelers carrying luggage, and anyone with temporary mobility limitations.

Transportation connects people to employment, education, healthcare, family, and opportunity. Throughout history, the ability to move efficiently has helped civilizations grow, and today, that freedom should belong to everyone.

At Cantos Inc., we are proud to support accessibility improvements throughout NY’s transportation infrastructure through LiDAR scanning, Scan-to-BIM modeling, BIM coordination, Inspections and engineering support.

We also recognize Quemuel Arroyo, the MTA Construction & Development’s Chief Accessibility Officer, for his leadership and commitment to creating a more accessible transportation system. As a fellow New York University alumnus whom I have had the pleasure of getting to know, I deeply appreciate his advocacy and the impact of his work.
