😭 Update and Operation' Close-the-honey-building'❤️

First, we want to say THANK YOU! The outpouring of love, prayers, meals, and support for Codi and our family has been truly overwhelming. We are so incredibly grateful to be surrounded by such an amazing community. ❤️

Codi is doing okay! We're managing his pain, adjusting to our new normal, and figuring everything out one day at a time.

Folks have offered to step up and help, so here are some details to share 👌

🔨 BIG HONEY COMMUNITY BUILD DAYS!

📅 Saturday, November 7th & 14th

⏰ 8 AM – 4 PM

We have building plans ready and are working on finding someone experienced to lead our volunteers, ensuring a safe and efficient build. Our goal is to get the trusses up and the tin walls and tin roof covered!

And if need be, we'll roll Codi out in his wheelchair to help direct the troops! 😂❤️

It's not easy for us to ask for help, but this community has reminded us that we don't have to do it all alone.

🍯 A Little Update from Big Honey LLC 🐝

Well, life has a way of throwing unexpected curveballs, and unfortunately, we've been dealt a pretty big one.

Codi ( owner and lead beekeeper )recently suffered a serious accident after being bucked off a horse, resulting in a broken hip. Needless to say, this has brought things to a screeching halt around here.

As many of you know, we've been working incredibly hard to build our new honey facility. This building represents years of dreaming and planning.

We were SO close to getting it enclosed before winter! All the materials are here and all that's left is getting the trusses up, putting tin on the walls, and getting the roof on. ( 🫠😅🫣) Once those things are complete, at least the investment we've made so far will be protected from the Wisconsin winter.

Unfortunately, with Codi's injury and the long road to recovery ahead, our progress has come to a standstill.

We're not giving up. Just navigating an unexpected detour. ❤️

In the meantime, please bear with us if our response times are a little slower than usual. Between Codi's recovery, our family, and keeping Big Honey running, we're juggling quite a bit behind the scenes.

And if anyone happens to have some extra hands, connections, or ideas for getting a building enclosed before the snow flies, we're certainly all ears. 😉

It was a miracle in a half that this morning was perfect weather to pour the foundation. The men showed up early this morning after the infloor heating was laid down, and they got to work. Several hours after they poured- the rain set in hard, which was just what it needed to "wet cure" which makes the foundation even stronger. On top of the added fact that this slab was poured over an old farm foundation, we have a 'solid' beginning to say the least 🤣. 🚜 Maybe it also helped that we laid 4 Bibles in each corner of the building before they poured ! May our new chapter be BLESSED 🙌

🚜🍯 BIG NEWS AT BIG HONEY! 🍯🚜

We officially broke ground on our new honey extracting building! 🙌🐝

As we go ALL IN on getting this building up and ready for the next chapter of Big Honey, we’re simplifying things for a little while. Because of that, our flavored honey will be temporarily unavailable while we focus our time and energy on construction.

But don’t worry — regular honey will still be available at our roadside stand! 🍯

Please bear with us as we grow (quite literally 😂). This building is a HUGE step for Big Honey, and we’re so excited !

Thank you to everyone who continues to stop at the stand, buy our honey, tell your friends about us, and support this little dream of ours. 🐝💛

Catch us at Carlsville Days The 20th annual Carlsville Day on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM along State Highway 42 in Carlsville, Door County, Wisconsin. This annual free family festival features a community parade, a craft fair with over 40 local vendors, and a cherry pie-eating contest.Event Highlights and ScheduleParade: Kicked off at 10:00 AM along Highway 42 (running from Harbour Village Campground to Morning Star Road).Food & Drinks: Food trucks operated from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the parking lot of Door County Coffee & Tea Co.Cherry Pie-Eating Contest: Held near Door County Coffee with kids signing up at 11:30 AM and adults at 12:00 PM.Activities: Included free Door County Trolley rides between event sites, a kids carnival with a Ferris wheel, inflatables, face painting, and a craft show outside Door County Candle Company.Live Music: Performed across multiple local venues from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
