to when in-car video meant stacks of VHS tapes, burned CDs, docking stations, and long nights waiting for footage to download. 📼💿🚔

Back then, the idea of body-worn cameras wirelessly transferring video directly to an HD in-car system sounded futuristic. This vintage Kustom Signals ad promoted “wireless triggering download” like it was something out of a genie’s lamp.

Fast forward to today — automatic wireless upload is simply expected. Officers pull into the parking lot, and footage begins transferring automatically without handling tapes, discs, or manual downloads.
