Congratulations to Plainville Schools on winning Round 3 of the Save Your Kitchen Sweepstakes! 🎉

Tanya Sieber and Sarah Mitchell from Traulsen stopped by to celebrate the arrival of three new additions to the kitchen: a Hobart Food Equipment and Service mixer, Traulsen reach-in freezer, and Vulcan Equipment heated cabinet.

With much of the school's kitchen equipment dating back to the 1950s, these upgrades will make a real difference for the staff preparing meals every day. It was great to celebrate with Foodservice Director Miranda McCune, her kitchen manager, the elementary school principal, and the district superintendent.

On the drive home, Tanya and Sarah made one more stop in nearby Codell, Kansas, to visit the monument commemorating the town's incredible history of being struck by cyclones on May 20 three years in a row—1914, 1915, and 1916. A fitting end to a memorable Kansas road trip.

Congratulations again to the Plainville team! We're proud to have been part of bringing these well-deserved kitchen upgrades your way.

Our team had an amazing time with Equipment Preference, Inc. at the 2026 Texas Association for School Nutrition annual conference, talking with school nutrition professionals and learning more about the challenges and opportunities they're seeing across Texas.

What a great show in Iowa! The School Nutrition Association of Iowa Conference once again lived up to its reputation, an incredibly warm, welcoming, and inspiring event where attendees are truly open to learning and sharing ideas.

A highlight was Tanya Sieber leading two engaging breakout sessions across the two days.

The first focused on equipment and preventive maintenance, walking through key kitchen equipment categories while highlighting the most common failure points and best practices to reduce downtime.

The second session took a more interactive approach with a DISC workshop, introducing the basics of communication and personality styles. Participants completed an assessment to better understand their own DISC profile and explored how different traits impact teamwork, communication, and day-to-day collaboration in school nutrition environments.

We're so grateful to be part of such a strong, passionate community supporting school nutrition professionals.
