The original founders of Southern Spears hail from Australia and Texas. “Spear” is Australian slang for surfboard. Southern Spears carries a large selection of surfboards from shapers in Australia and Texas – both southern in their own right. The Vintage Pup Bandana modeled by Jackpot Jayne! Jayne and Ripley (Pup on the Vintage Pup Brand) are former “Bus Dogs”.

There was an abandoned school bus left at the Galveston Island State Park in March of 2025. The bus was LOADED with 71 dogs and cats!!!

Galveston Island Humane Society made a plea to the public to help walk dogs, clean cages etc. Jen walked “Jayne” and even busted her out for beach walks. And…couldn’t live without her. So she’s ours now.

Ripley is the face of The Vintage Pup! Amazing how such a rough start can lead to a beautiful journey and success stories!

Now that we’re in the slow season, come on by and see Jen & Jayne. Poopie will make an occasional appearance as well.

Loved watching the Harvest Moon Regatta today across the street at the Pelican & The Shark. Sailboats were cool, but to see the Historic Elissa with ALL her sails up was impressive!
