Next Camp, needed now more than ever.

Ask anyone who has chased storms, and been the financer or collector... or both, If it was fun, easy, or profitable the first or second time.

Unless they are truly remarkable... the answer will be no.

Ask them what they were missing...

Most will agree... a process.

The process taught here... works there, and there, and here, and there... Why we call it a process. If you do it... it will succeed.

This is what I was talking about in my pre-storm message. When you come to "help"... you cannot bring more problems than you can solve... Read that again, and understand, you compound their problems when you do.

The situations are beyond dire.

So... what does help look like?

Be as self sufficient as possible. Ask for nothing, provide everything.

The most important thing... Don't worry about work. If you do the right thing in the beginning, the work will take care of itself. It will come, and come correctly.

This means it will finish correctly, for everyone.

I posted a poll yesterday in our forum. If your not attending Policyholders Preservation Association of America conference, what are the reasons?

Number one response, both by the poll, and DM's was the current financial situation. Everything is expensive, and the income did not change. Folks are feeling it everywhere.

We charge 750.00 for 3 days of higher learning. We provide a beautiful venue on the coast, one of the best speaker line-ups of "true practitioners" that exists, and feed you a great meal all 3 days, with a dinner at the end. In other words, the conference does not pay for itself, we take up the shortfall, provide our time and services and try to recoup at least some of the hard costs. There are some who do it for money, and that is ok. There are others who do it because they feel they have no other choice. The four of us, Melanie Spoon, Natalie Maxey Hodge, Shaun Hodge... all fit into that last category, as do the speakers. Passion. Money will come later, when you quit searching for it... just like love.

That being said... you should never have to miss out on education due to finances. While we can't make it free... we can help.

So... I bet you there were multiple heart attacks yesterday when this broke.

I do no believe in non competes. Have had that thought process, documented, for a while. In fact, we teach the camp exactly what we do in our model. We don't hold anything back. This means we teach our competition how to be our competition...

Quite simple: We, as a profession, affect less than 2% of all claims, by my best estimate. The profession is well over 125 years old, and there are less than 10,000 in the whole United States. There is no competition unless the individual chooses so...

There are many large firms who have locked folks in, harming them and the insured.

That ability no longer exists, and good riddance.

While some had negative effects, many breathed the first breath of freedom in a long time.

Regulators prohibit new noncompetes, which impede millions of U.S. workers from getting a better job.

"One" of the most educational... Yeah, we will take that one.

Your colleagues, who have found success in practice, not in myth, stand in front of you, and explain how they do it. There is no pay to play. The folks in front you are actively working claims, on one capacity or another, and have decided to share that with you. Many of them, like myself, are not polished speakers and orators... they are actually fighting stage fright... in a room full of their peers, amongst many other fears that grip anyone before speaking in public, on one of the most hotly contested items... Insurance and the claims that arise from it.

Each speaker will give approximately 15 minutes to Q&A at the end of their talk. This is your time...
