We’ve welcomed YU & Associates to our team - a firm with a strong reputation across the Northeast for geotechnical engineering, environmental services, and civil engineering.

This is about more than expanding our footprint. It’s about bringing together teams that think the same way about the work - technical excellence, long-term client relationships, and a commitment to getting complex projects right.

Yu & Associates has spent more than 30 years supporting transportation, aviation, and resiliency projects across New York and New Jersey. That experience, combined with their deep local presence, strengthens how we serve clients in one of the most complex infrastructure markets in the country.

For our clients, this means broader capabilities, deeper expertise in geotechnical engineering and environmental remediation, and a stronger team on the ground in the Northeast.

This is how we continue to build - thoughtfully, with the right partners, and always focused on the work that matters most.

Welcome to the team, Yu & Associates!

Helping fish move safely through our waterways isn’t always straightforward—but it’s critical to healthy ecosystems.

Through trap-and-truck operations, our team supports the collection, transport, and release of migratory fish, helping bridge gaps where passage isn’t possible. It’s detailed, hands-on work that relies on coordination, experience, and adaptability in the field.

Want to learn more about how we support fish passage programs? Let’s connect.

Understanding what's happening below the surface has always been one of the biggest challenges in environmental work. It doesn't have to be.

Leveraging 3D visualization tools and expertise in geostatistical modeling, our team builds interactive subsurface visualizations that make it easier to see and understand how contamination behaves across a site and dramatically improves how we communicate those conditions to clients, regulators, and stakeholders. By bringing together monitoring data, site investigation findings, and potential source areas into a single three-dimensional view, these visualizations turn complex subsurface information into something teams can explore and act on.

Instead of relying on isolated data points or flat maps alone, project teams can see how contamination is distributed beneath the surface, how it changes with depth, and how site conditions connect across the broader area.

The result is clearer communication, stronger understanding, and more confident decision-making. Because when you can better visualize what's happening below ground, you can make better-informed decisions above it.

Interested in how 3D visualization could support your next project? Let's talk.

Bringing wind energy to life takes more than turbines—it takes the planning, infrastructure, and engineering behind the scenes. 💨

As we recognize Global Wind Day, it’s a reminder that renewable energy depends on more than generation. It takes the right foundation to move projects from concept to reality at scale.

Verdantas has supported nearly 1,500 MW of wind energy development, contributing to a broader portfolio of 7,500+ MW across wind, solar, and energy storage.

Our teams support projects from planning through operation, including:
- Siting and environmental permitting
- Engineering design and grid integration
- Construction support and compliance

Supporting the continued growth of wind energy—and the systems behind it—is a key part of the energy transition. By bringing these capabilities together, we help clients navigate complexity and deliver reliable energy solutions.

Advancing methods and approaches for evaluating pump intake performance remains an ongoing effort, and Verdantas is helping drive this progress. 💦💭

At the Hydraulic Institute 2026 Technical Meeting, our team provided an update on the second round of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) round robin evaluation, part of ongoing work to better understand what role CFD can serve for pump intake design under the ANSI/HI 9.8 standard.

The evaluation of pump intake hydraulics has historically relied on physical modeling, but there has been increased interest in expanding the role of CFD. Verdantas is actively involved, contributing to the development and evaluation of CFD modeling approaches.

It's clear that CFD is a useful tool. But variability in modeling approaches and results means we have not been able to expand the acceptable uses of CFD to align with current compliance standards.

As this work continues to evolve, we look forward to helping shape how CFD is integrated into pump intake design.

As data center infrastructure continues to scale in complexity, coordination across disciplines is critical to keeping projects moving efficiently from design through construction.

At Verdantas, our team supports these efforts through 3D Utility BIM Modeling and coordination, helping clients visualize and manage subsurface infrastructure before it becomes a field challenge. This includes developing detailed 3D models of utility systems, coordinating closely with contractors, performing clash detection, and resolving design conflicts early to reduce risk and avoid costly rework. We also deliver accurate as-built models that support long-term asset management and project documentation.

By connecting design intent with real-world construction conditions, this approach improves collaboration across teams, accelerates schedules, and gives project teams greater confidence in delivery for complex, fast-moving data center environments.

Our team recently had the opportunity to take part in STEM Day with the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. Lindsay Crow and Shawn Aiken spent the day engaging with students, using our hands-on watershed model to explore how watersheds function, how water moves through interconnected systems, and why effective stormwater management matters.

Through real-world examples and interactive learning, students were able to see how science, engineering, and data come together to support smarter water decisions. Opportunities like this highlight the value of early STEM education and reflect the practical, system-based approach we bring to our work every day.

The redevelopment of 14527 San Pedro was recently recognized as “Reposition of the Year” at the NAIOP SoCal Awards, highlighting the coordination and ex*****on behind a complex industrial site transformation.

Verdantas supported the project, working with Rexford Industrial to provide geotechnical observation and testing services across the 5.2-acre site. Our team delivered subsurface exploration, field and laboratory testing, and construction-phase observation of grading, excavation, and backfill activities to help document conformance with project plans, specifications, and applicable codes.

From utility trench backfill to pavement subgrade preparation and aggregate base placement, this work helped ensure the site was prepared to support long-term structural and operational demands.

Congratulations to the project team on this recognition: Jeff Pflueger, Brynn McCulloch, Erin Boeshart, Rick Fernandez, Patrick Martin, Joel Beckham, and Petar Spasov.

What if one of your largest waste streams could become a resource instead of a liability? ♻️

At a vaccine production facility, egg-based manufacturing generated up to 8,000 tons of waste annually, with most of it destined for landfill.

To explore a more sustainable path, Verdantas supported a beneficial use demonstration focused on identifying alternatives to disposal. Through sampling, analysis, and coordination with a composting partner, the team helped confirm the material could be transformed into a nutrient-rich soil amendment. Verdantas, in partnership with the client and state environmental regulators, also ensured permit compliance and protection of human health and the environment.

By shifting this material away from landfill and toward beneficial reuse, the project delivers both environmental and practical value.

On World Environment Day, this project is a reminder that sustainable solutions don’t always come from something new. Sometimes, they come from rethinking what we already have. 🌍
