What inspired you to become a Staff Senator?
To be able to advocate and meet staff where they are and hear their stories.
What is your favorite WCU memory?
One of my favorite WCU memories is presenting a session for Accounts Payable at the 2026 Summer Institute and connecting with and learning from colleagues across campus.
Is there a faculty or staff member who inspires you? Why?
Kristi Westphal-Thomas: Kristi is truly a joy to be around. Her dedication to supporting all WCU employees and creating meaningful professional development opportunities has positively impacted my work experience. On a personal level, she has helped me navigate some tough challenges throughout my career. Without her guidance, encouragement, and support, I would not be the employee I am today. I highly recommend that everyone take advantage of the professional development classes she offers. Her passion, knowledge, and genuine commitment to helping others grow make her an incredible resource for our campus community.
What's something fun/interesting your colleagues might not know about you?
I drive a black Bronco named Black Betty, and if there's a purple option for something, chances are I'm choosing it!
