Got this little Vermeer 800 Mini Skid in the shop with a blown head gasket. Customer bought it within a couple hours of using it it kept shutting off for over temp. Pulled the oil dipstick. Coolant mixing with oil and smoking bad from start up. Got the head pulled off and antifreeze in all the cylinders. I was able to track the cause back to a pinched radiator line not allowing coolant to flow through the block. Cleaned out all the cylinders and all the water ports. Got the head and block cleaned up and put a new head gasket, intake gasket, exhaust gasket. Got everything tightened down per torque specs. Cranked it up and ran just fine! Never said I would be going this in depth with my business. But sometimes you have to dive deeper to learn new things!

It’s been a very very busy last couple weeks! Most of the pictures are the parts when I’ve taken them out to be replaced! I’ve had some more shop projects come through the door! From an Auger rebuild to a Finn Hydroseeder pump replacing the mechanical seals to now a Vermeer Mini Skid Steer with a head gasket replacement. Still waiting on a new thermostat and a sensor then it will be ready to go! Had a bunch of cylinder repacks and hoses replaced over the last couple weeks on everything from Caterpillar Forklifts to Komatsu Trackhoes to JLG ManLifts and even a compactor cylinder repack! I’m still in the process of building my tanks to be put on my truck also! If you all need anything just let me know! I’ll be happy to assist you with anything from just a simple service of the equipment to hard to track down problems in the hydraulics as well as tractor repair too!

Had some decent jobs this week and last week! As always message me or call to get on the schedule! Started the week off with a service job on a LS MT3 45e! New hydraulic and oil filter and oil as well as greasing all the points! Rebuilt a stick cylinder on a bobcat 32! Got an older Massey Ferguson that’s been setting for around 8 years back up and running! Got all the filters ordered for it to do a full service when they get here. Today I was able to swap an E70B Caterpillar grey market machine from backhoe controls to Trackhoe controls. Tomorrow finishing up the week installing a swivel joint in a Komatsu PC 50! Then work on a bobcat skid steer! Last week was we had to go out on a call at night! Blown air line on a trailer. Little did we know we would have a police es**rt because of all the roadwork on I-26. Got a tilt cylinder on a John Deere 650 repacked! That machine will be getting some love done to it over the next couple weeks! Replaced an ignition switch on a Kubota KX-62. Then finished the week up by replacing a starter on an old Ford tractor! So please let me know if anyone needs any work done on any machine from excavators to tractors and even starting to get into the trailer maintenance and repair field!

Had a family vacation and back into it this week. Rebuilding some cylinders off a tractor backhoe attachment. And then a valve for a local customer. Took the evening and rebuilt the joystick assembly on a customers trackhoe that’s started leaking. Also wasn’t cranking good. Traced out the wiring and found a loose wire on the ignition side of the switch! Got a new CAT 313 back up and running again because a DEF line blew! Got everything ordered to be able to replace the fuel shut off and ignition switch on another customers Kubota Trackhoe. Starting tomorrow off with doing a full service on a bobcat Trackhoe then moving on to an E70B Caterpillar getting it back to running again! Anyone have anything need done just let me know! And I’ll throw you on the schedule for next week!

Finally able to get the cylinder back for the 307. Ended up also having to pull the hydraulic back apart to clean all the metal out of the system. In the past 2 weeks I’ve worked on 2 Cat E70B. The manual primer on one was leaking. Added an electric fuel pump to that one to eliminate the manual pump. Replaced 2 cylinders on another E70B. Tested good! Installed winches on 2 four wheelers, only one is operational for now. Have to wire the other one up. Tore down a valve block and rebuilt it that a customer brought me!

Messed around with the start of some metal art stuff this past weekend. Made a pot holder that goes from small to large pots! Then started the week off with a set of upper Idler rollers going bad. Removed one and it just fell off. The other one was not far behind it. Then ordered a new set of taillights for a bobcat T750, got all the lights working again on it. Customer brought to my shop one of the Chinese made mini QH12 excavators to see why there was so much fluid leaking under the machine. Of course the boss man little Judd had to make sure he got a picture on it. Removed the swing motor and found a bolt missing a the other 3 chewed up from where they backed out. Pulled it all apart, replaced the seals in it and retapped all the holes and used new bolts. Torqued everything down. That will be ready for install one evening next week. I’m starting to try to take on more smaller jobs in my shop for the evening or a rainy day! Anything y’all need! Just let me know! Call or text me! If you don’t get ahold of me send me a text! 828-788-8760!

Decent week with the rain and the emergency brake down on a paving company box scraper which will lead into this week. More info on it on this next weeks post. Got a dump truck fully serviced, got 2 machines back up and running. The trackhoe had been setting for 2 years. Got it back to cranking and running. I’ll have to do a full service on it this week or next! Got a D3 dozer up and running that has sat for 6 years or so! The only thing left to do on the dozers is to fully bleed the injectors again! Rolled a new track on on John Deere Skidsteer. Done a full service on one of the Sany 50u trackhoes! Looking forward to this week now!
