🚗 There’s engineering behind every curve!

Many roadway curves have a raised outside edge a design feature called superelevation that helps vehicles navigate the turn safely. It’s the same principle used in banked racetrack turns, built into your everyday commute!

The US is now home to more than 11,000 roundabouts and counting! 🚗

There’s a good reason they keep popping up.

Roundabouts are an FHWA Proven Safety Countermeasure and have been shown to reduce fatal and injury crashes by up to 82% at certain types of intersections.

By slowing traffic and reducing conflict points, roundabouts can help create safer, more efficient intersections for everyone.

🔄 It’s National Roundabouts Week!

Roundabouts are an important tool for improving roadway safety. Intersections account for roughly one-quarter of traffic fatalities and about half of all traffic injuries in the United States, making safer intersection design a critical part of creating safer roads for everyone.

At CM, our transportation professionals have helped communities evaluate, design, and implement roundabouts. We’re proud to put thoughtful engineering and safety analysis to work creating intersections that better serve drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and the communities that rely on them every day.
