The USDA has officially opened applications for the Meat and Poultry Processing Expansion Program (MPPEP) – Phase 4, designed to help expand processing capacity and strengthen America's meat supply chain.

If your facility currently processes cattle under USDA inspection (or a state equivalent), you may be eligible for funding!

💰 Processing Expansion Projects• Awards from $50,000 to $2,000,000• Equipment purchases, facility upgrades, renovations, retrofits, and expansion projects• Requires a 50% match

🔧 Simplified Equipment-Only Projects• Awards from $10,000 to $250,000• Equipment purchases only• Requires a 25% match

✅ Eligible applicants include:• For-profit businesses• Non-profit organizations• Producer-owned cooperatives• Federally recognized Tribes and Tribal entities

Applicants must:✔ Process cattle for commercial markets or toll processing✔ Have operated for at least one year✔ Be a Very Small, Small, or Intermediate Processor✔ Hold a current USDA FSIS Grant of Inspection or state equivalent
