When market conditions create opportunity, speed-to-operation can become just as important as long-term infrastructure planning.
At this propane rail unloading site, S&S Technical helped the customer rapidly bring a 5-car unloading operation online using a mobile trailer-mounted rail access platform combined with a permanent piping header system and S&S-built LPG compressor unloading package.

Instead of waiting months for:
👉 Permanent steel rack fabrication
👉 Foundations and concrete work
👉 Structural installation
👉 Permitting and inspections
…the operation was able to begin unloading railcars quickly and safely while long-term expansion plans continue to develop.
The site includes:

✔ Trailer-mounted rail access platform
✔ Full stair and elevated operator platform
✔ Railcar gangway with safety cage
✔ Product and v***r header systems running the length of the track
✔ Bulkhead hose connection stations

Exciting news!! Last week Jeremy Campbell and Jim Zuccarell completed the startup and commissioning of S&S Technical, Inc. first VerssaPro LPG rail unloading compressor skid at a client site in the Southern US! - More to come on this! We were able to put the unit through its paces in difficult conditions and were extremely pleased with the performance.

The VerssaPro is designed for high speed rail unloading of Propane, Anhydrous Ammonia, Propylene, and many Refrigerants. The system is not only capable of unloading rates up to 950 gpm but can also evacuate down to 0 psig, enabling users to capture 100% of the product from every tank car.

There will be a few more weeks of testing ahead, so stay tuned for updates!
