Featured in today’s post are components for a jack-up rig, a mobile offshore drilling unit standing on three massive legs in the ocean.

To optimise operations, SBS customised a COM-KU®/D sliding plate for the cantilever of the drilling tower, allowing the tower more flexible movement. LUB-MET® sliding plates were also constructed for the lower and upper leg guide plates.

SBS’s COM-KU®/D and LUB-MET® are the two most widely used materials for marine/offshore applications! However, our custom expertise enables tailored solutions for demanding applications requiring specific approaches to material and technical design.

SBS has since become a pioneer in providing suitable bearing solutions for trolley/cages in Indonesia and Malaysia. The lifetimes of our GAP-MET® and LUB-MET® material surpass 2 years with just a single set of bushings!

Featured in the above picture is a true demonstration of SBS’s engineering excellence, our COM-KU/D® which provides an easy retrofit for ALL conveyor screws throughout palm oil mills. It is also maintenance-free and greatly suitable for high load capacities and rotational movements.

With proven field tests of more than 13.000 hours, our COM-KU/D® outperforms conventional oil-filled nylon by 4-5 times, reducing tedious and dangerous screw conveyor maintenance to a minimum.

In short, SBS’s solutions for both trolley/cages and screw conveyors are cost-saving, easy to retrofit and offer great support for often remotely-located palm oil mills.

Suitable components are key to palm oil processing.

SBS – Singa Bearings Solutions®️ is a recognised bearing expert, having participated in major palm oil projects and understanding how to maximise performance and minimise downtime. Our bushing solutions for trolleys and cages feature proven lifespans of ≈ 2 years.

15 years ago, SBS became the first company to realise the impact of unsuitable bearing materials within palm oil applications. We’ve since become a pioneer in providing appropriate bearing solutions for trolley cages in Indonesia and Malaysia. We’ve also previously supplied hanger bushings for CBC screw conveyors, proving a record minimum of 13.000 hours!

Our current mission involves discovering further improvements for palm oil mill machines. Present bearing lifespans average 4-6 weeks but we argue that this can be pushed up to 4-5 times longer.

The SBS team also provides comprehensive plant assessments and a wide range of bushing products.
